Mr Rhode never ceases to amaze.

I was just thinking how much easier AK will be to maintain in the future where the normal wear and tear might actually enhance the effects.

Thanks teebin! Great photos. :)

Looks great! thanks for posting the pics.

I actually overheard a man complaining about AK on our last trip, how for a new park, it really looked run-down....:hammer: :hammer:

yeah, my parents were down back in march. they are in their 80's. I took them to DTD. My dad said, "To bad they have let that building go all to hell. Needs some paint!". I explained to him that the House of Blues was supposed to resemble an old warehouse that music groups took over to play their stuff. It was fake rusty on purpose.

It's really moving along quickly, when I left on August 15th there was still really nothing interesting to look at, just plain grey concrete

That sounds like something my grandmother would say...in general, that is, because she knows WDW pretty well and actually "gets" it!
Ah...leave it to family to provide comical relief!

Thanks for the pics. As stated above, Joe Rhode is amazing. I read the book about the making of Disney's Animal Kingdom. It's an awesome book.

Very cool -

My family tends to rush me through AK....they consider it a half day park.

Next trip I'm going to force them to take their time and take it all in. AK is so beautifully themed and executed.

Looking forward to giving Yak and Yeti a try. I know it's an "outside" company, but if done right, I don't care who technically owns it. I care about the overall experience.

Thanks for the pics!

Awesome pictures, thanks for posting them. It looks like its going to be an amazing restaurant. I really hope it starts serving authentic asian food.

haha yeah when I took my grandfather on his first (and sadly only) trip to Disney World two years ago we got off the safari and the first thing he said was "you would think that Disney being the great big company they are could afford to fix their roads". lol he didn't get it that it was supposed to be like we were in the wilderness. But during that trip he fell in love with Disney and always wanted to go back.
