There has been some recent changes to the following discount marketing offers. These changes effect all current and future offers. Remember on all offers, there is only a limited number of rooms available for each participating resort for each date in the offer period.

Annual Passholders

At least one adult staying in the room is required to show proof of having an Annual Pass upon check in. Valid Annual Pass Validation include Disney Premium Annual Pass; Disney Annual Pass; and Florida Resident Seasonal Pass. The pass must be active at time of check-in or if an exchange voucher is shown, the voucher must be activated within 24 hours of check-in.

Families which include up to 3 Adult Passholders may still book up to 3 discounted room reservations per visit. All 3 Passholders can be booked in the same room as long as the total number of adult Passholders matches the number of rooms booked. The Passholder maybe under the age of 18, as long as they have an adult (10+) annual pass.

Florida Residents

At least one adult, 18 years of age and older, staying in the room is required to show proof of Florida Residency upon check in.

Families which include up to 3 Adults FL Residents may still book up to 3 discounted room reservations per visit. All 3 Adult FL Residents can be booked in the same room as long as the total number of adult FL residents matches the number of rooms booked.

AAA Members

A valid AAA (American Automobile Association) / CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) Membership number and expiration date are required at the time of booking, no exceptions. You will be asked for your membership number prior to checking availability. Guest must show valid AAA / CAA Membership card at check in. AAA / CAA Members wishing to book a Walt Disney Travel Company Vacation Package must contact their AAA office. Only Room-only offers are booked directly with the Disney Reservation Center.

As a side note, you used to be able to use your AAA card for a 10% merchandise discount at World of Disney. That is no longer available as of 7/29/07. They took it on 7/25 and wouldn't on 7/29.

You now must have the Diamond Preferred card AAA gives you for booking your trip through them. That is all they will accept.

Can you clarify something about the AP requirements? I am an AP holder and will be traveling with family in October/November. I believe the rules used to allow me to book up to 3 rooms with my AP. Do the new rules require us to have an AP for each room that we want to book?

For example: My wife and I, both AP holders, are traveling with her parents and her brother's family. We need a total of 3 rooms. Do we need 1 more AP, to get the AP rate, if one were available?

I believe that is correct, but I'm sure others will confirm this.

Thanks, JP. Even thoguh I won't affect me about the multiple rooms, I can see why some folks would think it is teh suck. Nonetheless, I'm glad to see about being able to check-in on the voucher rather than the completed AP.

Once again, in trying to "maximize profit" and squeeze every dime out of people, they may loose money in the long run. I will come less often, or bring less people with me (who would be sharing a second room and buying all those passes, food, and souvenirs).

In that case, for about $70 per night extra, they risk losing the whole thing (usually about $400 per person) on people who justify coming in the first place because a passholder (me) is already coming, and they can afford to tag along, with the discount.

That is the situation for a lot of people who tend to add on and come with me when I come. They usually have never been, and justify going this time because of the discount.

I wish Disney would just treat their "best customers" as their best customers! Repeat business at a discount is ALWAYS more profitable than new business that has be scrounged up through advertising and services.

One room per AP.

Well said.

Go Iger regime! :brick:

These couple of recent changes (and in addition, the upcoming rate increases) scream letter writing campaign.
In the period of a week, they are increasing the pricing of:

- the dining plan (as well as taking items off of it)
- tickets
- rooms
- AP discounted rooms (because you can only get one, now)

with no extra benefits to the guest. Just trying to make more profit. Which is all well and fine, but these effect the fans more than anyone else, for the simple reason that fans go more often. I don't see a point in taking away benefits from Annual Passholders. The extra $10 for those two rooms that they don't get from the APers is really going to help that much? Values are going to be what, $100 a night now anyway.

Very interesting news lately. I better see good returns on my stock.

Yeah, they are spiking all their prices and trying to maximize their profits in order to pay for their crumby investment decision in purchasing "The Penguin Club", We will all suffer for 2008 so that the kids can get a crap online community.

More like to finish paying off the ridiculous price they paid for Pixar. $350m for a website isn't that much nowadays.

I'd be interested to see the revenue %'s of new guests vs. return guests. Anyone have an idea of what these numbers are?

Yeah..good point. I cannot see the Pixar investment paying for itself in my lifetime (hoping for another 60 years at least). But this is neither here nor there. I still think that 350 million for the site was way too pricey..

If you think about it, the recent changes in the Passholder Marketing Offer policies will not affect most families on this board or otherwise.

Most typical families include at least 2 adults (parents) and at least 1 child age 10 and over. This will allow this family to still book 3 rooms per visit since they have 3 Adult Passholders and so can still invite family and friends to join in their family vacation.

Previously, families would abuse the offer by spliting up in multiple rooms so each passholder could book 3 rooms each. The above example family would book up to 9 discounted rooms for several non-passholder family members taking these rooms away from the true "best customers" the passholders themselves.

However, I often take different people to the World with me, that only go once every few years. I book three rooms on my AP, and use one. This will end up costing only a little bit more now (usually about $20 a night at a moderate per room), but I don't see the logic in not allowing AP holders to book three. The resorts aren't THAT busy where there aren't rooms available except for the height of peak season. And even then, you can usually get a room if you don't mind where you stay.
