Last time I went in Oct it was the week of Columbus Day....BIG MISTAKE To go that week...But next year 08 I'm leaving the end of Sept until the 5th of Oct here's hoping it won't be too bad then

Any one know if they are doing Wishes fireworks on Saturday October 6th? Last time i looked at the foreworks schedule somwhere it was not. I really want to see it. Last year when our family went my 2 year old at the time had a fit and we left with only seeing a little of the show. Just my husband and I are going for our anniversary and I was disappointed when I saw they were not being done. How about the spectromagic parade?

Yeah, we're going from 10/14-10/22, and while the expansion of hours is great, it worries me that crowds could be quite a bit heavier than we'd like.

We'll be there until Sunday, October 7th. Over the past few years, we, too, have noticed that the crowds seem to grow around the Columbus Day weekend, as well as Columbus Day. Very few of the schools in our area (Pittsburgh) close for Columbus Day, though some do---making for an opportunity to have an extended vacation weekend. We have met folks in the past that have said that their children's schools have "fall break." They must start school much earlier than the last week of August to have break that early!

Saturdays have been extended through January...but, for the most part, *only* Saturdays. A few Fridays during Party seasons, but no other days, and no other parks.

Certainly curious...

Well, this is great news considering that this is going to be my first trip to WDW since August 1993 (yes, yopu read that correctly -- 14 years and 2 months come October 2007).

In all honestey, I'm glad the internet is around today because it makes my planning strategies so much easier -- what parks to hit morning extra magic hours, what parks to stay late in to take advantage of evening extra magic hours, and the like.

Great find, thank you -- although it was there all the time.

And yes, it's my trip. I'm going to WDW for week by myself.

Ah! I missed those. AK is 6 during Jersey Week, 8 during Thanksgiving, but 5 otherwise up until Christmas Weeks. DS was extended to 8 from Jersey Week up to the start of Christmas Weeks.

the MK is open until 12am on 10/7, with EMH until 3am. That's a Sunday.
(unless than changed since yesterday. I didn't check. LOL)

We've been taking annual trips to WDW in late Sept/early Oct since '98. And every year, it gets increasingly more crowded. I do remember last year that the days after the Columbus day weekend (T-W-Th) weren't nearly as awful as the weekend itself.
