power outage?

We had the power go out one day when we were there in December. Disney's back up generators did kick in so that the hotels had power and stuff but we were at EPCOT and all the attractions went down. With the back up generators the pavilions had power for the stores and movies but none of the rides were running. It took about 3 hours for the full power to come back up so Disney sent out a TON of characters. Between Morocco and the UK pavilions we saw Belle, Aladdin, Jasmine, Mary Poppins and a penguin, Alice, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger.

That would be fun!

Most of those characters are out anyway in their respective spots. On a plain old day in May I ran into all of those.

I got stuck on the Haunted Mansion once due to a power outage. Right by the scene with the casket, "Let me out of here!"

They may have the characters stay out for an extended time when there is a power outage.

Yes. A huge one. I was working in the greenhouses at THe Land the day that the Epcot generator blew up and destroyed the backup, closing the park. (July 17, 2002). We had to take care of the plants by hand (all computerized normally) in greenhouses that were exceeding 120 degrees. THAT is a power outage.

There hadn't been any characters out before the power outage then they all came out at once. People started leaving the park so they brought out the characters. We stuck around cause we were doing CP that night. Plus we got some pics with the 100 Acre Wood gang in the UK pavilion.
