Does anyone know anything else about an opening for toy story mania in mgm besides 2008? I'm going in April and hope to see it.

I believe it opens Spring 2008. It's almost certain that Disney will have soft openings, and if it's anything like what happened with Expedtion Everest (which I think it will be) it will have a soft opening months before it's official opening, so my guess is you'll be fine. I sure hope it's early May, I'm going after college graduation and I can't wait to go on this attraction because I usually house my Fiance at BLSRS.

The only opening facts Disney has confirmed are a 2008 opening and it will be opening at the same time in both Florida and California. Anything else is just speculation at this point.

it will definitely not open at the same time in FL and CA. CA is months behind FL.

I figured the "grand opening" would coincide with the announcement of Star Tours 2 and the retooling of the park into Disney-Pixar Studios so they can have a megahypefest going on.

I was told that testing and adjusting would be possible by Christmastime making it seem that the ride would be operational for soft openings by Jan/Feb. Of course this was awhile ago and things are subject to change (and at the time I wasn't told that Mickey Avenue would close either).

I'm sure they'd like to have a DPS media blitz in time for the 20th anniversary in 2009. What better way to announce that than to have TSM open exactly one year beforehand, similar to DCA opening the ToT one year before the 50th anniversary celebration.

I haven't been to the studios for about 8 months but judging from the pics I've seen on here, and what I saw of the Cali building yesterday I don't think they're really all that far behind, the roof is on the ride building (but the queue building is still needing lots of work).

They have already begun on the ride mechanics and rough theming at the DPS ride...not so much at DCA. DPS is looking at a spring opening, DCA at summer. You don't really have to believe me...we'll all see in a year's time.

All I know is I cant wait for this ride. Im not anticipating this as much as I was Everest or M:S, but Im still wanting to ride.

I can't wait for it to open, I love riding MIB and I know this is going to be better just because technology available now. MGM needs a few more of these type of attractions in order for it to be worthwhile to stay for EMH's.
