Dressing up for the Pirate and Princess party?

We went in February, and almost all the girls were in princess costumes. We bought a Hook costume for DS4, and there were a few other Hooks, Peter Pans and Capt Jacks of course :) There were also a ton of adults dressed up as well. We had an awesome time and will be going back in September for it :sohappy:

Our youngest wants the Elizabeth Swan costume that she saw at the Disney Store. I told her if she gets it she has to wear it at Halloween as well.

For those who have been before can you give any advice? We have dinner ressies at 445pm and I am not sure if I should try to change to a sit down lunch. Also what are the 'don't miss' things?

Yes - I would say 99.9% of the kids were dressed as pirates/princesses! A lot of the adults were too (not us) but not to the same extremes as the kids. I thought the little pirate outfits were the cutest - especially when I saw them on a little girl.

As far as your reservation I might think about changeing it. As some of us may or may not know for most after hour event you can usualy get into the park starting around 4pm instead of when the party actualy starts. But if you go right from your reservation you'll still be there early so its up to you. As for not to miss the parade & fireworks mostly. Hit as many spots as poss. for candy & booty that you can but overall just have a magical time.

we went in February and had a blast - many people were dressed up, but it's OK if you don't - there'll be many who don't too. Don't miss the fireworks or the parade - that was the best part for me (well, that and the "fre" chocolate...)

I saw that costume and my daughter loved it too, but ughh - that heavy thing in the FL Aug/Sept heat?? No way!

The one at our Disney store was pretty thin actually, the Captain Jack was really heavy. But Elizabeths was thin pants sort of like the jasmine pants and the top/jacket was the same thin 'princess' style materials. But still, I don't know that she will want to be walking around in the august heat in any costume for that length of time.

We dressed up! I was a pirate, complete with a black shirt with the word "pirate" across the front, a capt jack sword (that lights up!), and a ton of rings. We had a blast.

The festivities don't start until 7:30. We arrived at 4:30, got our maps and booty bags, and headed out into MK. They had the parade at ...6 PM?... and the Wishes firework at 7 PM. Then, after the fireworks, if you want to get anywhere other than the exit, you have to show your wrist band to the CMs, as they are blocking the way to get back to the rides. In order to ride after 7:30, you have to have your P&P wristband.

I would say for the 4:45 dinner reservations, you should be ok. I would say be in the park by 6:45, so you can check out the fireworks, and then later get to see the P&P fireworks and parade.

And don't miss the fireworks or the parade. They were fantastic!
