Hi Everyone,

Our party of 7 is leaving for WDW at the end of this month. My brother inlaw is going with us and he likes his occasional beer (daily) and he was curious if it's better to just bring some with him to save on cost.

Called our airline and it doesn't matter either way, just needs to be contained in zip lock bags incase of leakage. He's not a mixed or stiff drink type of guy, he just wants a beer or two each night.

This is his first trip along with my sister so I'm trying to help them as much as possible. He's willing to buy this at the resort (POR) but I'm unsure of the cost, I'm sure it's higher...does anyone know the cost of bottle vs can beer at the resorts gifts shop? can you buy it at POR.

Any help would be great.
take care
Tim

If you head off property to a local Publix, Wal-Mart or even Winn Dixie you can find some excellent deals on beer. Personally, Wal-Mart would be the cheapest, in my opinion Publix is pretty expensive.

Some would say :
  • a life of misery and sorrow
  • you soul burning in hell for eternity

others would say:
  • 2.95 domestic 4.95 imported...what'll it be?

There were beers in the food court fridges if I recall.

You can always buy offsite easily enough as well - depending on your transportation setup.

I wouldn't try bringing any in your luggage - too much to go wrong and with the strict weight limits on bags, that extra 5-10lbs could be an issue

Well you can buy this refillable long glass at your resort . I forget how much it was but you pay say 10 for it and then 5 something everytime you fill it. It was quit big like the kind over in Epcot at England. It worked great for us.

You can use that for alcoholic beverages?

Yes you can purchase beer at all of the resorts. A six pack will cost you about ten dollars, individual beers will run you about four dollars. Much more expensive at the parks, about seven dollars for a pint at Epcot, That's why the Rose and Crown Pub holds a lien on my house!:D

I believe the price of a six pack is 12 bucks for beer at a resort. just a arning they are expensive. You'd be better off going to a 7-11 or walmart and getting it. getting it at a resort is expensive.

Yes, Hess Express carry beer, but more expensive then wally-world, target and publix. And Publix is not more expensive than walmart... here are some example prices:

Yeung-Ling
Wally-world: 5.79
Publix: 5.19

Bud Select:
Wally-world: 5.19
Publix: 5.49

Corona:
Wally-world: 7.99
Publix: 7.49

Just a few examples of recent pricing. Publix is usually on-par or less than walmart. Publix also carries Rosa Rigale for 19 and change. GOOD stuff!

The OP didn't say whether or not they would have access to a car. So I guess Publix if you have a car, or Hess Express (near Boardwalk or DTD) if you don't.

Nothing worth walking for. There's a Publix over off 192 that you might be able to take a cheap cab ride to from AKL to get supplies, there's also a liquor store in the plaza with the Publix.

Something some friends of mine did a few months back, they bought a ton of Airplane bottle from their local ABC store and put them in a Zip Lock bag and brought them down. $1 per bottle compared to $3 a bottle adds up! The Zip Lock was there in case they broke, but most were plastic.
