Attendance is a problem in Tampa, yet when they play at the WWOS, the ticket prices are jacked up? That makes no sense, who wants to pay that much money to see a bad team (D-Rays) and a medicore team (Rangers)? You have to give the fans an incentive to attend a game. High ticket prices will drive them away. I hope they draw well, but I don't see it happening.

Exactly. This doesn't make sense. If they would lower the prices, they would draw more than a regular series against in the Trop. I went to a Texas game last year on a Monday night and we drew a whopping 7,000. By lowering prices, they could sell WWOS out and it would be more than they would draw in St. Pete.

very true, it's also bad when the D-rays are already listening to offers for Rocco and Crawford
With the OF depth they have, I can see trading Rocco, but not Crawford. If they trade CC and get nothing but unproven prospects, they might as well fold the tents and move out of town because they will lose the vast majority of the fan base they have.

Very true but the D-Rays won't be able to afford him when he becomes a FA. If the Angles can give $50 million to Matthews then Crawford can easily get $100 million.

Very true. Fortunately, he still has about 4-5 years left on his contract. They'll trade him in his last year.

I would hope the D-Rays would try to keep him but he has club options in 2009 and 2010 that means he can go to arbitration and and get a huge raise and force the D-Rays to rework a deal before arbitration, the D- Rays can take there chances in Arbitration which wouldn't be smart or decline the option and let him become a FA which would be the biggest mistake of them all. The D-rays have some talent and hopefully kazmir can stay healthy.
