Hi there our trip is booke for the end of october into November. I was all happy and now I have been reading stuff everywhere that October is no longer a quiet month to go and is really crowded because some States have an October school break. Does anyone know when this school break is held and how busy does it really get. I don't know if I should change my dates. We arrive Oct 29. Does anyone know how ling this crowded period lasts? We usually go around November 8th and did not think the crouds would be much different. I hope I really didn't make a mistake booking at this time but I wanted to check out the MNSSHP. Thank you so much for whatever information you can offer.

Haven't heard of October breaks. :veryconfu

But the fact is there aren't any slow times at WDW any more. Just really crowded and crowded. Hopefully you're still in a crowded time :D

I am from Canada and we do not have October school breaks where i am from but its just what I have being seeing on a few discussion boards. So now I panic. We were there last year and happened to be there in November and it got quite busy on Veteran's Day.

I went last year Oct 28-Nov 4, it's now my favorite time to go. Low crowds and weather was great, no rain, but we did need a light jacket on two nights. It's the best time to go!

We have October breaks for schools here in AL. but I don't have kids, so I am not sure what week in October that is. I have not been to WDW in October, this year will be my first time going. I am sure you will get plenty of advice and tips from those that do go every year in October. I have always heard it's a great time to go. I think you should keep your plans and just go :)

I am sorry for that I feel so bad. :brick: Thank you very much for the correction. I guess I got mixed up. Once again I am very sorry and my appolgies to everyone.:o
No problem - just trying to figure out when you were there. As others have said, there's really no uncrowded times anymore, but at that time of the year, it really shouldn't be bad. Besides, it's Disney World - it's going to be great!

We went last year from Sept 30th to October 8th and this was very crowded compared to the last 4 years we went. The last Saturday the 8th , the wait times were over 30 minutes for almost all of the bigger attractions at Mk. We had goen before and hat year was very crowded.

I Can Tell You That There Are In Fact October Breaks For Schools. Its Something That Just Started Happening In The Last Few Years. But You Shouldnt Have Any Problems Because These Breaks Fall In Early October, And Not During Your Stay.

Here in Indiana (Go Colts) we have fall breaks, around the end of October and the people I know usually head to Florida. I was in WDW last October (20 to 25th) and it was a pleasant time, hardly any waiting in lines, great weather for the most part. I was there until a Tuesday and the fall breaks would have begun at the end of the week. Sounds to me that you'll be there in the middle of that time. I don't think I would let that change my trip, go and have fun!

Just a little heads up, if you take your caps lock off you will not have all your words start off with a capital letter. It really makes it kind of hard to read.

Most colleges have a Fall Break, ours is usually the second or third week in October. Me and my Mom went to WDW the last week in October last year, and it wasn't as crowded as it is in May ( when we usually go), but there were still crowds, wait times were still high for some rides ( Soarin to be specific) but I have been in May, June, July, and August, and October seemed to be the least crowded of those times, plus the weather was great while we were there in October! Not to mention how awesome MNSSHP was!

Our last trip was also Oct 28 - Nov 4 and it was really great!!

Crowds were light, weather was great (a little cool - they could have heated the quiet pools at the POR a bit more).

The crowds did come the last day as "Jersey" week started. This saw the parks go from very light to very crowded in only one day!

Don't know when the dates for Jersey week are this year, but it seems that it WILL impact the crowds.

Have Fun!!!!

Not an issue

Just to put your mind at ease, your travel time should be fine.

We went this past year the week before Halloween and found the crowds (medium or less), weather (sweatshirt and great) and atmosphere (fantastic as always) to be perfect.

Here in Indiana we do have Fall Breaks of a few days and when we all (7 of us) wore COLT jerseys for Our Halloween day in at the Magic Kingdom we found out how many people actually travelled to Florida for the break (we lost track of everyone that said hi to us and actually lived less than twenty miles from us).

But that being said we had no problems with crowds, very little wait time for any ride and perfect weather to be out all day. Good luck with your trip and have a fantastic time.

We have a school fall break in MS. It fell on the 9 and 10 of Oct in 2006, which was on Mon (Columbus Day) and Tue. I wouldn't be overly concerned, you will have a magical time.
