Sounds Dangerous

There has been rumor floating around on this site for some time about the expiration of the contract between Drew Carey and Sounds Dangerous. If indeed the attraction is removed does anyone know of a possible replacement at the ABC Sound Studio??

"Foster, get in there and check it out!"

This is one of the few cases where I actually say that an empty building would be a better attraction than this currently is.

100% agreed. I cannot wait for something new for this venue, it is well overdue. They should have kept the original Monster Sound Show.

Gee, if that happens this'll be the third empty thing at MGM. The old stage for the Hunchback of Nortre Dame isn't being used (well, I don't think so anyway), and who knows how long Doug's been empty. Disney really needs to make new plans at MGM for all those empty things...

^^^^ Do that, replace stunt show with indiana jones ride like the one in disneyland (in time for the 4th movie when it comes out next year.), take out any scene in the great movie ride and add captain jack scene from pirates, do that and you have a big improved park thats awesome!

it's a good thing MGM has the Tower of Terror...and I must say, it is long overdue for something of the scale of Tower of Terror. The time for adding little filler attractions for this park has passed. It needs a major E-Ticket now.
Do this:
1) New Parade; I don't really care what it's based on, as long as it's new
2) New Star Tours video
3) New ride in the Sounds Dangerous/Superstar Television building. If they want to rename the park Disney-Pixar Studios, make a Ratatouille ride there
4) I agree on adding pirates to the Great Movie Ride...have it replace lame-o Tarzan.
5) New drop sequences on the ToT
6) please do something about the Backlot Tour...it's a shell of a ride and they should just make it into a special effects ride...drop the lame studio act, it doesn't work anymore
7) Remove Pocahontas from Fantasmic! and replace it with a giant pirate ship like Disneyland's version, but use the Pirates of the Caribbean characters
8) A new Indiana Jones ride, but don't use the EMV. Make it a much-needed water ride for MGM, through a heavily themed temple with a huge drop at the end like Journey to Atlantis or Jurassic Park; Disney has been lacking a ride like this for years. Make it high tech--no lift hills, but rather use elevator lifts (like Journey to Atlantis in San Diego) to save space and you could make a very cool, special effects driven elevator lift section of the ride.

If they did even half of that, I'd be very happy...MGM has so much potential.

MY problem with MGM is that it has 2 great E-ticket attractions (TOT and RnRC) and then NOTHING to support the rest of the park.

The stage shows are SO dated (and pale in comparison to the newer shows at other parks), the park has 2 e-ticket in Star Tours and GMR that were once great and now they are just boring.... the stunt shows have little to no return factor...and of all the parks, the food options at MGM are the worst.

So they are building the new Toy Story ride....but as I see it, the park with then have 3 attractions worth visiting and then NOTHING to support the rest of the park.

I kind of have to agree with that. Our last trip, we ended up ditching our 2nd MGM day in favor of Epcot (F&W) There's so much to play with at MGM but they haven't taken advantage of it imo. All we really hit there is Star Tours, I do ToT and RnRC, Fantasmic, and Muppets 3d (which I'm getting to the point where I don't want to bother). We'll do GMR & BATB if the lines aren't too bad. We were really disappointed with the Indiana Jones show.

I do like the current Star Tours but anything to make it better works for me. Funny story.. this past Oct we took my mother in law for her first trip since my DH was a little thing...back when it was JUST MK. My DH is a big Star Wars fan, so obviously, my MIL watched it a great deal as well. We got her to ride Star Tours. During the part before you go into the trench thingie, she leaned over and asked DH "Are we going in? YESSS!!!" This coming from a 63 yr old woman!

MGM is our least favorite park. We go to Muppets and The Voyange of the Little Mermaid. We watch the parade and do a little shopping thats it.

We always find ourselves at MGM, but never a full day. We go in the afternoon, ride ToT a few times, RnRC a few times, eat lunch at Backlot or whatever. We still see GMR just because we still like the montage in the end and it's nice to relax. And we'll go in the afternoon so we can see Fantasmic at night. But as far as BaTB, VOTLM, Muppets, etc...we see them if we have time and feel like it.

Even though we always visit MGM, I wish it could be a full-day park *shrug*

I will admit I do need a break from Epcot now...haven't had a desire to visit in a while except for a couple of things so a break is in order like we've done for the other parks :lookaroun

We like to go to MGM towards one of our last days at WDW, becasue it is never that crowded and can let little man (3 yo) walk around and not have to worry about him getting lost in the crowd. Last year we went in the am to have breakfast with JoJo adn to see the Doodlebops, left, went back in time for the parade and once the arade was over we practically had the place to ourselves. It was actually ind of sad. :(
