first off, has anyone noticed the the parrot is missing over the entrance of potc? i rode it for the first time in dec and thats the first thing i noticed. othe then that, the ride was great, although the cannon siege on the fort could be a little more realaistic.

also, whats up with this pirates on the seven seas lagoon thing?

Yeah...it was mentioned when the rehab first started that they were taking the parrot out. So it's been gone for a long time now. Many miss it...but I highly doubt it's coming back to that spot, especially after this long of time.

I think the parrot is used inside the ride now (on the last Jack Sparrow scene)

what was in that place before the rehab ? .. i never did my POTC ridethrough from wdw(2005 so before the rehab) because it was so dark in there .. so I can't check that easy

I don't see how the cannon seige scene can be more boring than the pre-rehab version. I've always loved that scene. Besides Barbossa, I noticed a new special effect of a bullet or cannonball whizzing just over our heads. It was more than just a sound effect. We felt the breeze of it in our hair.

Many have guessed that, but it just isn't true....totally different body structure. keep an eye out for the barker parrot.... I hear he's only on vacation and could make an appearance outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean.....

Giant treasure room was there with tied up Spanish guards. There should be pictures if you search a website like disneypix.com or the photoalbums here....

Barker bird was gotten rid of during the first stage of the rehab. He now resides, I believe, in the Imagineering Museum in LA. In between the rehab and Jack Sparrow's addition to the ride it was very lonely. There was no new facade, just no Barker Bird.

If anyone's interested, by the way, the Tiki Room Barker Bird is at the Experience the Music Project in Seattle right now. I saw him over the weekend at the Music Behind the Magic exhibit.

I miss the parrot! :( I don't really like the new version of the ride. I think they took out the "yo ho" too much. I don't like everybody talking about Jack Sparrow the whole ride.
