I heard about that this morning. I don't know how that could happen with all the security things now...

he feels that the first boy was basically enjoying himself, not going to school, etc. Doesn't have a clue that the child was no doubt scared to death of the consequences of trying to leave!

I ussually like some of what he says... but THAT??? I would have to hear more evidence to believe that this kid wanted to stay with that guy so he wouldn't have to go to school. Fear in a child can do allot.

Yeah...that is a little nuts...

There's not doubt in my mind that he was scared...and then he probably got that disorder where you don't want to leave your captor because they are treating you nice. So you stay. Don't remember what that's called.

From the news reports, he had been able to go out...possibly had access to a computer, those types of things, but I have heard that he was probably being hit around too...so, I mean things weren't as "great" as O'Reilly seems to think there were if that's why he thinks he didn't leave.

But the truth is...no one will ever really know what happened, we might find out a little about why he didn't leave, but since his parents aren't pushing him (which I totally understand) it might be a while before we find out a lot of the major details of what happened while he was gone. But I'm sure that he wasn't really enjoying his time being "captive"

THAT is scary :(
Scarey and strange! Last summer the 11-year old boy that I was taking care of had to fly alone to Philly to meet up with the rest of his family. His baseball team was in the championship game, so he didn't want to miss it. Anyway, I had to take him to the airport, show my ID,fill out forms there (his Dad had to do similar papers the day before), and stay 'til the plane was off the ground. His Dad was waiting at the airport in Philly and if he did not get to the airport on time, they would have called me and put the boy back on a plane to RI.

I couldn't let my children fly by themselves. I have never been in that position but as of right now there would be no way.

Wow! I would've been scared to death to fly alone at that age. After the whole fiasco in Denver over the holidays I read a story about a few of the kids who were stuck there for days by themselves. Sounded like none of them minded it though...they had them set up in a special room w/ movies, video games, toys, and private lines where they could talk to their families whenever they wanted. One little boy said it was like camp :)

Began around 3690...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh man....

They started earlier this week or the end of last week... and I was here during it; but everyone did a good job of just basically ignoring the random/slightly rude things they were saying without being rude ourselves...

I saw that person come back in yesterday right before I left work... glad I missed whatever followed...

(I knew immediately when you said it started around 3690 exactly who/what you were talking about...)

I was a nervous wreck about it, but his dad was fine about it - in fact he let him fly alone to DC last spring. I still worry about my 21-year-old!:lookaroun

Kind of reminded me of that old commercial -

I haven't gotten there yet, but I think I know exactly who we're talking about. Strange.
