Hey Susie :) Looks like you guys got alot of ice down there!

My side of town got some, maybe a quarter of a inch. Northside has and is still getting it. We have rain. They are telling everyone to stay off the streets. The girls are out of school again today. Now 2 days to make-up.

Okay... I need your opinion again guys...

Marc and I were casually bantering about baby names, and he's dead-set on ...

get this...

Caesar!

I'm serious! If it's a boy he wants to name it Caesar! Please help me convince him that our kid would be mercilessly teased for the rest of his life if we name him that!!

:hurl:
Why Caesar?!!!
If he's that intent on it, pray for a girl!!!

Quick Krystyna. . .
make a deal.
Give in on finding out the ______ of the baby ahead of time in exchange for naming rights.
Fast!

That thought had entered my head... I just don't know if I'm willing to go that far. A name should be something we both agree on (to some degree), right?

he's always had a fixation on Rome and the Roman empire. Plus his full name is Marcus, and he's always liked that it was a roman name...

There aren't any Caesar's around... nobody in their right mind would name their kid after a Salad!

Good idea Dot!

or let him decide on the middle name....

He's already claimed Elizabeth for the middle name if it's a girl.

We had more arguments about names for both our kids. With DD we were both teachers, so there were a lot of names that we just associated too much with certain "problem children". Then I liked the name Amy after his grandmother from the Titanic, but our neighbors had an Amy that they were always yelling at....

In a perfect world!
Seriously, yes, you should both have input on that important decision.
But Caesar!!!

How about this. . .
Buy a baby name book and sit down with it together.
Make a running list of names you both like and then gradually narrow it down.
Some place along the line, lose Caesar.

Better start saving now.....

Yeah that flew out the door...

hahahaha

Allie asked me last night "have you ever "saved" any money; like actually saved money???"

I said no...

I went through a time where I desperately needed to save every penny to payoff a credit card debt I had burdened myself with my freshman and sophomore years of college... it was a miserable time and I deserved it cuz I put myself in it... it taught me more valuable lessons about life though than any one situation could teach me... when I finally came free from my debt this past summer I clearly came out a better man... a lot of family members were concerned because they thought I seemed different... i was; i had fully moved on from my mistakes but was still paying for it; but... when i came through it; i just really learned how to make the most of every situation and there is no situation you can't work your way out of... It also taught me how to save money, how to be frugle (?), and how to get by on very little... my parents have always been able to spoil me (or save me from the mistake I made)... I thank god they don't and they didn't...

And I told her how since I'm finally in a place where I can spend money; I'm doing it while I can because I know how badly I need to save when I graduate so I'm trying to enjoy the rest of my college years and not being afraid to live a little while I can...

Also, I've gained the ability to assess every purchase I make in a bigger picture... that's what it took me an hour to decide between which TV... because I was running numbers through my head... thinking about if this would affect buying a ring, going to Disney... any other such future things...

 :zipit: Yikes! I agree w/ Dot, you need to save this poor child. My mom saved me...I was almost named Iris (for IRS, since I was born on Tax Day). Come to think, she also saved my little brother from my dad wanting to name him Thor. :zipit:

My mom's a teacher, so she would always bring home stories of hellian children... Sooooo many names are now lost to me...

I think I may corner him while we're at Disney... there's nowhere else to run.. :D

Luckily he already has changed his mind... He originally wanted to name it "Darth" or "Anakin"

:brick: :brick:

You're starting to scare me Bunny.
BTW, how did you come up with a cat named "James"? :lookaroun
Couldn't Marc have gotten this naming thing out of his system with the cats?
