In may 2007 I will be celebrating my SS birthday in WDW. I knew someday it was going to happen, every year we would come back closer and closer to my birthday. I havn't stopped smiling since. I was wondering if there is anything special and where to get the birthday buttons.

SS= You tell me how old this is ;)

:animwink: :) We celebrated my husbands birthday, a milestone one, there 2 years ago. Get a birthday button at Guest Services wear it the entire trip, make a special dinner reservation at someplace you love but can't always afford to go to and have a wonderful time!

We are going to Disney's MGM Studios, i'm pretty sure about that. But first were going to Kona Cafe for breakfast since afterall we are staying at the Polynesian. And here's what i'm going to be thinking "1.i'm in WDW, 2.ON MY BIRTHDAY"

Make sure to tell them about that special day when you are making your reservations, just let it bubble over. Do the same when you check in and when you make your dining reservations and you just may find a little something special coming your way. Enjoy your trip!

I went for my birthday in October 05 and it was great fun! I spent that day at the Disney/MGM Studios and got the pin from Guest Services. Lots of guests and CMs said happy birthday to me, but the best of all was the characters in the parade who saw the pin and said the same thing to me. There's just something indescribable about being able to say that Mary Poppins, Aladdin and Luke Skywalker all wished you a happy birthday. :)

SS? = Happy Sweet Sixteen! (or it could be that you are now eligible for social security- but I'm sticking with 16)

We took our DS for his 4th B-day. You can get a b-day pin at every park. Also, make sure to let them know when you make your dining reservations that you're celebrating your b-day.

Chef Mickeys does a great birthday celebration. Everyone sings and twirls napkins. Also, when you check in to your room, make sure to let them know it's your b-day. If you're staying on the property, you should get a little something from Mickey.

Have a great time!

I burst out laughing when I read the Social Security remark :D.

Like others have said, make sure that the special occasion is noted in your reservation (407-W-DISNEY if this still needs to be done), and be sure to get a birthday button from Guest Services in any of the parks.

We went for my son's 18th. He's a real goofball and loves the silly attention so he did it all. We declared it birthday week and he got pins at every park and wore them all every day. He bought one of those big birthday cake hats and wore it most of the time (except it was hot). At every meal we celebrated his birthday. Just wearing the pins got him a lot of attention from the CM's as well as guests. It was a great conversation starter while in queues. (You can get the pins at Guest Services at the park entrance)

I will say that we mentioned his birthday at check in but we didn't get any extras. We weren't expecting any so we weren't disappointed. But if it it's important to you, then you might need to be a little more assertive than just mentioning it.

Have fun!

Oh, I just remembered one other thing.... our daughter gave him a Mickey autograph book and pen (yes, he was 18!) and when he struck up a conversation with someone, he would ask them to sign his "birthday book". So now he has a keepsake of autographs from characters, CM's and other guests that helped him celebrate his 18th birthday.

If you are not shy you will love this. And if you are shy, this is a great way to try out being "not shy". No one there has any idea who you are or what you are like back home, so get out there and have fun!!
