Hi everyone!

I was wondering, once Disney Magic Kingdom reaches phase 4 on Christmas day (heard that it usually happens around lunch or earlier) do they ever "reopen" the gates later in the day/evening? Since they are open until 3 am on Christmas day, I can't image everyone staying that long.

Thanks again!!

Last year they had EMH on Christmas so it was open til 3a. Maybe this is the case again this year.

I would imagine that the MK closed to capacity last Christmas, but we went in the early evening and got in.

Attendance levels are monitored continually, so any given park may switch back and forth between Phase 1, 2, 3 or 4 capacity levels any time thoughout the day.

At certain busy times of the year the Theme Parks experience great numbers of visitors. These fall mostly on the holidays but can happen any day of the year. In order to ensure safety and a magical time for all once a certain number of Guests have entered the park, certain attendance measures go into effect. They are as follows:

Alternate Parking:

All Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks remain open today. Due to limited available parking, Guests arriving at the Theme Parks may be directed to alternate parking areas where they will use Resort transportation to travel to the park of their choice.

Phase 1:

At this phase, Day Guests with a Magic Your Way Base Tickets or a 1-Day 1-Park Ticket, Guests without Theme Park admission and Cast Members using Main Gate & Silver Passes will be turned around at the Auto Plaza. Guests meeting these criteria are told the Theme Park has reached capacity.

Phase 2:

At this phase, Theme Park admission is limited to Disney Resort Guests, Annual and Premium Annual Passholders, Guests with Magic Your Way Tickets with Park Hopper Option, and Guests re-entering this Park today. Guests using Walt Disney World Resort Transportation and Guests in taxis will be admitted. Guests not meeting the above criteria are told the Theme Park has reached capacity.

Phase 3:

At this phase, Theme Park admission is limited to Disney Resort Guests, Annual and Premium Annual Passholders, Guests of Shades of Green at the Walt Disney World Resort and Downtown Disney Resort Area Guests using their respective transportation. Guests not meeting the above criteria are told the Theme Park has reached capacity.

Phase 4:

Closed to all Guests and Guests are told the Park has reached capacity.

Thanks for the responses. I double checked and MK has EMH for the evening and will be open until 3am. It is great to know that they switch between phases throughout the day (as guests come and go). We just wanted to take the day easy and head over to MK around 8 ish.

Thanks for all your posts!!!!!
