after much deliberation and thought (and changing of my mind) my fiancee and I have finally decided on doing it at WDW! :sohappy:

I'm so excited and have so many plans running through my mind!
the main reason I chose WDW is because I'd rather have a small, intimate wedding and also all the extra things we can do there... like I can take everyone to cirque de soleil after or a nice restaurant for dinner etc.

I wish the wdw magic boards had journals or blogs we could individually have cause I'd love to blog my wedding planning adventure right up to the magical day here.

anyway, just thought I'd let you all know and thanks for all the help as well.
see you on the boards!

Yay! My wife and I also considered it very much, but in the end opted for a local wedding. (At the time we were also in NY, and the parents would help pay for the local wedding) Congratulations on the decision to do it!
:D

Oh, one more thing... seriously... I could videotape it for you...

That's what I do.

not sure on the date yet.. we're thinking october 2007 but my sister will be my maid of honor and she's in college so we have to find a time that would be good for her as well.

I'm hoping I can call disney planning sunday (gonna be busy the rest of the weekend) and can start officially planning! :)

thanks for the congrats!

Congratulations! I can't think of a better place to get married. Me and my girlfriend were considering it but since we live in the UK it would be expensive to fly people out to florida. Apparantly you cant do it in DLP because according to french law, you must live in France for a period of time (I forget how long) if your going to get married in france.

Keep us updated!

Congratulations!! I wish I was invited! I would love to have an excuse to be part of a Disney wedding. :D

As for blogging your preparations, I would say that, unless the moderators object, it sounds like it should fit as a "trip report". So if you post this in the Trip Report forum, that would be so cool to read your story leading up to and including the wedding (we want pictures!!).

Again, I am very happy for you, and wish you all the best in your preparation for the wedding, and in your new life together.

Zz.

Congrats!! How exciting. I have had friends who got married at WDW and say it was one of the best experiences they have had.
I know you will have a very memorable day and I can't wait to hear about all the planning :)

I myself would be more than thrilled to hear about your wedding plans!! I am so completely jealous of you getting married at WDW! my husband proposed to me at the castle and we had a cinderella themed wedding and had our honeymoon at WL, but nothing would compare to actually getting married there. plus, i love hearing about planning events-in a parallel universe i am a wedding/party planner instead of a factory worker:dazzle:.

BTW; maybe you already know, but the last i heard, you can actually get married at the castle at night. im sure it costs a good chunk of moola, but if you have it i can only imagine how spectacular it must be. I saw this info in the birnbaum's wdw guide if you wanted to know:).

again, congrats and definitley keep us all posted!!!

lol. first of all..that's essentially a reason why I chose to get married at WDW. I know us ladies are supposed to love planning our weddings, but honestly.. I'm freaking out and stressing about it! I figured having disney do all the planning was worth the price alone! And I know with Disney it's going to run smoothly and everything will go well... no bakery not showing up with the cake or missing florist like you see on all those wedding shows on tv!

secondly... what a beautiful proposal and wedding you had!! sounds lovely!

and thirdly ..thanks for the tip about the castle. I could never afford that and if I could... I'd probably rather get married at world showcase! but thanks again! that would be a beautiful setting!

I can't wait to call disney and get the planning underway! :D

You could always start a thread in the Trip Planning board, and keep us updated on the planning in there. It would be very similar to a blog. Good luck with your planning and congratulations! :)

Congratultions, how exciting! I for one would love reading your blog. I am in wedding withdrawl after mine and I still love reading and watching shows about planning weddings. I got engaged at the castle as well and would have done anything for a WDW wedding, though it wasn't possible for us. Congrats again! Keep us updated!

Congratulations! We had a Disney Wedding January 1994 (before the wedding pavillion was even built). We had it in one of the ballrooms at the Grand Floridian and everyone there thought we were filming a commercial. Since Disney had no idea really what they were doing at that time, we got so much more than the average person would get now. We brought our own photographer and we photographed us in front of everything! Now I hear that you can only use their photographers and you are not allowed to photograph certain things because of copyright infringment (bummer!). :brick:

Anyway our wedding was awsome and I am sure yours will be too. I just remember what my wedding planner told us, "if you can dream it Disney will put and pricetag on it and it can be done". Whatever you think you want let them know. They will have a price for everything and the experience is MAGICAL!!!

My friends and family have not stopped comparing my wedding to all other weddings we have been to in 13 years and yes mine is still the BEST!:animwink:

hmmmm. I was looking at photos of the Port Orleans French Quarter (where I think we might stay) and was thinking I could get friends to take pics of me and my future hubby in our dress and tux on the horse drawn carriages there and maybe just around the grounds..

I wonder if that would get us in trouble? :veryconfu thanks for telling me this.. now I have yet another question for the disney wedding people!

I do know that you have to have their "approved" photographers for the wedding and if you want to do a photo shoot in any of the 4 parks- I would ask though if you could get pictures taken by your friends at the resort. That would be neat :D
