That is hard! The once in a lifetime thing you might have to let go. But I guess there are worse things. And who knows. . .maybe you'll live the kind of life in the future that allows you to go wherever you like.

I'm glad I don't have to decide things like this for my girls at this time. I want them to really live and experience the world. But it's so scarey now!

I think that's partly true. But I think it's escalated, and continues to do so. I do believe that we shouldn't be afraid to live. Nothing should keep us from that. But it's one thing to say that and quite another to allow your child to fly half-way around the world. I really don't know what I'd do. George would probably want to let them go. He's the one who made us all go to NYC days after the 9-11. He definitely thinks we should just live and not worry about what might happen. He's not a mom though.
