When the dragon breathes fire all over the Fantasmic lake, they pump it straight out to the resorts! :)

I have no idea, in fact, how do they do it at any big complex, we need to ask a plumber!!

We have four in our family (including a now 16 year old girl, who takes 30 min. showers every morning) and we all take showers in the morning at WDW. We have never had a problem with hot water running out at any resort we have stayed.

Funny you should ask........Last July at POR was the first time I ever had any trouble with the hot water. We returned from the park later in the afternoon and my wife went to give my son a shower, she said that the water wasnt very warm. I figured that she was just not using the valve right since we have the seperate hot and cold valves at home, but sure enough no hot water. Called Maint on the phone and they said that they would send someone out. 5 min later was a knock at the door. He went to the bathroom and ran the water a said "Thats not hot at all". He then said that they have the large comercial electric water heaters and have many of them in each building. He said that when they have losses of power some times that they need to be "reset" and this was probally the case. I know from what I have seen at local hotels in my home city that most of the comercial heaters are 100 to 150 gallon tanks that can heat up the water almost as fast as it is used. Sure enough about 10 min later we had hot water again. Other than that I have never ran out of hot water or even had a loss of pressure. When these hotels are designed by the architechts (sp)they are designed to not loose pressure and have enough supply for demand.

I figured they had a reliable way of doing it. I had seen the for lack of a better word, on demand type in our local Lowe's and it just made me wonder.

I assumed it was something like those "coil" heaters that are now available. They heat water as they pass through multiple coils, rather than sitting in a tank to heat up. The water heats as it passes through so you technically never run out. They're more efficient too because they don't have to maintain the water at a certain temperature all the time like conventional water heaters.

I think most comercial heaters work simular to that but use a tank also, they are designed to heat the water just as fast as it goes through the tank.
