Theme Park Nerdo

Does anyone know if anything changed with the main Buzz Lightyear animatronic in the queue?
These are things that are relatively easy to fix unlike what is happening on the other side of the park. For the second time in 2 days I get to revive my pixie duster status and say good job Disney.
Between the castle and this maybe there is hope for the company. I know it’s just paint and a quality refurb but it still feels good to praise Disney rather than constantly be disappointed by everything they do.
I wish they didn't wait for twenty-one years to do it though.Changing to the DL style untethered blasters would have been enough to please me, I couldn’t hit anything with the old ones so it always drove me crazy. The updated scenes are a huge bonus too though.
As I said the only reason I am content with its continued existence in both MK and DL is because I don't trust current management to not replace it with something that is either awful or completely out of theme for the area or both.Yeah I’m ok with them just replacing this at Disneyland.
Looks like Vahle made it happen.

What do you propose they replace it with especially with the creative restrictions being forced onto WDI now? That’s a common sentiment for me when it comes to change at the parks but in the case of Buzz, it’s hard to believe they can’t do better. If they use that space for a dark ride it’s hard to see how it could be worse. If they just retheme it into another shooter than you could have a point as it likely wouldn’t be as whimsical and undoubtedly be more screen focused (which I guess isn’t inherently a bad thing for a shooter ride). I wouldn’t really worry about the replacement being out of theme though as a living toy who thinks he’s a space hero isn’t exactly in theme. Haha.
Why would they close an attraction for over 6 months and not get rid of the mold?I just want to know if they took care of the mold infestation staining all the walls and ceilings. Many of the props were covered with it too, so I'm curious how extensive that cleaning and repainting process was as well.

While I’m heavily skeptical it does align with what we’ve heard about giving regional Imagineering teams a bit more independence by Vaughn. One wonders if Vaele now feels like he can work more collaboratively with people in person than a video call to a California teamThe President of WDW developed a “strong rapport” with the company’s internal attractions development team for WDW? Am I supposed to be impressed? This seems like it should be a base level requirement for the job.

You need a hurl bag for LWTL's ceilings, starting to look like my old house after the roof was torn off and flooded...I may copy and paste this comment in threads about several different attractions at WDW...
Ah, so in the desert scene, when the narrator says there is still life in the desert, even though we don't see one single bug or critter, the narrator is referring to what's growing on the ceiling!!You need a hurl bag for LWTL's ceilings, starting to look like my old house after the roof was torn off and flooded...

Literally. What were the other options on the table?
Yes, you're supposed to be impressed... It's Disney. They haven't been impressive for quite some time now lol.The President of WDW developed a “strong rapport” with the company’s internal attractions development team for WDW? There are a couple of POVs on YouTube. A few thoughts as a rare SRS diehard-
1. There are more targets, not less - I expected the opposite, and that’s a major win
2. The new opening scene is good
3. The updated chase scene in the tunnel works well
4. Escape Hatch changes are underwhelming but still a major improvement
5. The voices and dialogue of Buzz and Buddy are super distracting. I don’t like either of them. Easily the worst part of this update
6. Love the real smoke out of the volcano on Planet Z
7. Love the mention of Zurg’s base on Planet Z as the mothership
8. A lot got a fresh coat of paint - love to see it
9. It is going to take forever to get used to totally new music
Overall, major win. I was expecting this to close, not get this level of upgrade, and I’ll be thankful for that forever
Sad but trueYes, you're supposed to be impressed... It's Disney. They haven't been impressive for quite some time now lol.
