I am not getting my hopes up but it would be cool if Buzz's face got an upgrade. Even if it is just a higher quality projection.

Thanks. My family is coming in early on the 3rd, so the previews may well be wrapped up. We'll hope for soft opening of some kind in the days after Easter

For the second time in 2 days I get to revive my pixie duster status and say good job Disney.
Between the castle and this maybe there is hope for the company. I know it’s just paint and a quality refurb but it still feels good to praise Disney rather than constantly be disappointed by everything they do.

The newest video they shared of the ride does have some things that bother me but I'd be foolish to say this isn't a huge glow up. I'm glad this was done overall. Odds are, it was either change around the ride like they've done now or get rid of it entirely. I'd always choose the former even if it does mean things like losing the original soundtrack for the ride.

There are a couple of POVs on YouTube. A few thoughts as a rare SRS diehard-
1. There are more targets, not less - I expected the opposite, and that’s a major win
2. The new opening scene is good
3. The updated chase scene in the tunnel works well
4. Escape Hatch changes are underwhelming but still a major improvement
5. The voices and dialogue of Buzz and Buddy are super distracting. I don’t like either of them. Easily the worst part of this update
6. Love the real smoke out of the volcano on Planet Z
7. Love the mention of Zurg’s base on Planet Z as the mothership
8. A lot got a fresh coat of paint - love to see it
9. It is going to take forever to get used to totally new music
Overall, major win. I was expecting this to close, not get this level of upgrade, and I’ll be thankful for that forever

It still looks cheaper than ever - so a lateral move at most with better gameplay, which will be nice.
Still think Disneyland's version looks nicer.
