DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

I don’t think they are insistent on that.
Yeah, I don't think there is any evidence of Disney wanting to or not wanting to put MuppetVision in there. It certainly makes sense to do it.
If they're putting it on some virtual reality thing, I doubt they're gonna bring it back. The virtual reality crap is their way of saying "There! We preserved it, like we said we would!".

I've never known Disney as someone to not have a few redundancies. I could see a version of Muppetvision coming back but since not EVERYTHING is there, that's why they put it up there.

Here's a current look at the limo from bioreconstruct:

If they're so insistent on not putting MuppetVision in the nearby theater, could they at least replace it with a Muppets dark ride so Muppet fans who don't like roller coasters have something to do?
This - the single other type of attraction other than a show that would play to the Muppets' strengths the most if done well - sounds so intuitive a fit that the "sharp pencil boys" would probably just deem it too risky and not do it.

Going one further, I'd say going above and beyond the original "Great Muppet Movie Ride" idea and filling it to the brim with physical sets, (true) animatronics, and effects aplenty would be just what it would need to truly stand out. Since WDW has a history of swapping their defining E-tickets (Journey Into Imagination, Horizons, Great Movie Ride, etc.) out with inferior replacements, it would be such a treat to gain a new one on par with those; the closest we have to a comparable lineup nowadays is at Tokyo

Based on the promo art, this is just the base color and there's a lot of extra detail elements and shading that still need to be added, so maybe we should put the pitchforks away until it's actually finished.

The way the original color is still there as a base also looks odd.
I think a big part of the reason it looks odd right now is because the original paint is glossy and the new paint is matte because the new paint doesn't have a clearcoat like the old.

While it's certainly possible that they'll leave it like that to make it look like it's deliberately been painted over, my guess is that once all the painting is finished, they'll clearcoat the whole thing, so the new paint will look glossy like the old and there won't be so much contrast in the finish of the two paint jobs.

This bolsters my cautious optimism. The single-tone matte on the front looks like it's striking the right balance.

I'm so curious to see the queue. There are endless possibilities for clever and engaging ways to "Muppetize" it. Hopefully the outdoor portion of the queue will get the love it deserves, too!

Do we think the individual coaster cars will share the color scheme of the upside-down car? (Or at least the style?)

That could be another reason to repaint the car out front: to make it representative of the ride inside.
