Looks like Hoppers may be a pleasant surprise.
Daddy's money and vibes. One of my lingering questions was how such a relatively small player was going to afford a “110B” acquisition. Looks like they are downgraded to junk.
Best of luck to them in this foray.
They already were before even the Skydance acquisition. One of my lingering questions was how such a relatively small player was going to afford a “110B” acquisition. Looks like they are downgraded to junk.

I wouldn’t wish them the luxury. If anything I see this as being another AT&T or Discovery merger in the making. And if that happens (again), what will happen to WB (again)? One of my lingering questions was how such a relatively small player was going to afford a “110B” acquisition. Same as happened before, WB will be bought by someone else. WB hasn't been an independent Studio since 1967, its always been owned by someone.I wouldn’t wish them the luxury. But WB is going to pretty big, not certain who between the three choices (Netflix, Comcast, and Paramount) would want it, after that’s all said in done. I guess Sony, could take a crack at it. But I doubt they’ll get it. Disney absolutely can’t. Apple doesn’t seem interested. Comcast might be too big to get it. And Amazon is going to be viewed just as negatively as Netflix. So any other takers?Same as happened before, WB will be bought by someone else. WB hasn't been an independent Studio since 1967, its always been owned by someone.
In the scenario where WB gets split from Paramount/Skydance it'll be the same size as it is now minus whatever Paramount/Skydance decides to keep. So the same potential buyers as today would be there in the future, all the names floated around during this time minus Paramount/Skydance.But WB is going to pretty big, not certain who between the three choices (Netflix, Comcast, and Paramount) would want it, after that’s all said in done. My guess is it is not as good as it would seem, IMDB score is much lower.
Looks like an above average movie, but it’s not Walle, Coco, or The Incredibles based on early reactions.
So is this going to play like Elemental or Good Dinosaur?
The current Metacritic score of 77 puts it in A Bugs Life(78)/Finding Dory(77))/Monster’s Inc(79) rangeAs I’ve already seen it, it’s right up there with a Wall-E or Incredibles for me - not quite a Coco (which to me is S-tier).
Also the reviews sort of point to where it sits amongst its peers, and I generally agree with this. The film has potential to do very well at the box office.

China’s soft power over Hollywood is exponentially worse, like in a different stratosphere becuase they actually force changes constantly.
These wealth funds operate differently than you’d think.
I find Coco to be way below Incredibles or Walle lol, I think they’re best picture nominees tbh that got robbed. As I’ve already seen it, it’s right up there with a Wall-E or Incredibles for me - not quite a Coco (which to me is S-tier).
