WDW's Galaxy's Edge actually has more room to expand than Disneyland's version. Also, directly copying the “designed for Disneyland” layout it complicates future expansion at the studio park.

"Yes, our job is to build attractions and to build land and build shows, but that's not really what we do. What we do is, we create spaces–we create places–for people to create memories." –Paul OsterhoutA while back. I think they were looking at the North West corner of the park. The straight port of Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge beat it out. There were rumours for a while that it might be an eventual “phase 2” or “phase 3”.
I'm cautiously optimistic, but most of Disney's recent attractions have been cheap and lackluster.Who says it will be cheap? Who says the attraction will be lackluster?
Right. Did I read somewhere that differentiating WDW and DLR is a new business strategy? Thats interesting to me as WDW and DLR will always be different enough to warrant at least one trip to one or the other. Not that I’m opposed to this new anti clone initiative but it’s interesting that jet setting Disney adults would be this high priority to them.
Still can’t believe we’re getting this instead of Radiator Springs in Hollywood Studios. What a tremendous miss.
Ah there we go again! He can't be stopped!I'm cautiously optimistic, but most of Disney's recent attractions have been cheap and lackluster.
Off the top of my head? Mama Odie's Salt Mine Adventure, Crack Addict Goofy's Slow-Moving Train Ride, the glorified simulator that is the Ratatouille ride, Zootopia: Oh Crap Bellweather's Back!, Zootopia: Oh Crap Bellwether's Back But It's a 3D Show This Time...
100% Agree, Why do we want a clone when they are trying to make something new???We already have Radiator Springs, just go to DCA and visit it.
I for one am extremely happy they Arne just building a clone again. Let the parks become more unique!
You like the idea of 2 different lands. When the dust settles, you’ll be wishing Radiator Springs was in Florida.
Easier said than done. And if you want for them to be unique, push for them to stop using the same IPs at every resort. We already have Radiator Springs, just go to DCA and visit it.

He put it in a list of recent projects that flopped…because it is one. A pretty prominent one at that. Are we just supposed to wipe it from the track record because it sucked but it was “for a good cause”?Ah there we go again! He can't be stopped!
Because that attraction and land actually worked, unlike many other single IP lands. There are only so many good ideas to adapt Cars to the theme parks. Actually, there’s only one. Radiator Springs. It’s the heart and soul of the IP. If you aren’t going to use it, use a different IP. Or create something completely original. You aren’t satisfying anyone with this weird half measure.100% Agree, Why do we want a clone when they are trying to make something new???
No. It’s coming from the perspective of someone who isn’t local. Unless you live in Texas, you’re closer to one or the other. Fans of Cars on the eastern half of the continent want Radiator Springs in WDW. They don’t want this reject Planes location shoehorned into Frontierland.Your posts seem to come from the perspective that everyone here who visits either WDW or DL is local.
As someone who isn’t local and needs to plan travel and accommodations when visiting either park I’m glad they are doing more to differentiate them. Give me more unique experiences depending on the park I visit!
No but you mentioned it atleast 2-3 times in the past day, completely unprompted for no reason. It's not some catch 22 because the truth is way more complicated than just saying inherently opinion based things.Easier said than done. And if you want for them to be unique, push for them to stop using the same IPs at every resort.

I don’t think you view the parks as an art form if you truly believe any of that. But I also don’t believe that you truly believe any of what you said solely based on the last sentence. Your “opinions” are solely influenced based on feeling the opposite of what those you dislike feel.No but you mentioned it atleast 2-3 times in the past day, completely unprompted for no reason. I prefer Tianas (when its in full working order) VASTLY over Splash. I'm not wrong for that, it's a matter of opinion. The parks are art. There are other people like me who agree Tiana's is the clear better attraction. Just bringing it up with a snarky one liner 30 times a day is a. not going to change anything. and b. actively seeds more hatred for the original attraction because now that people love this attraction, you're dunking on it purely because its not splash. Personally, my opinion of Splash keeps declining every time I hear this because people praising it as some perfect attraction make me think about all of its flaws even more.
1. I love the parks as a true art form. Art is subjective. You cannot explain to me why Splash is objectively better because its not, it's subjectively better to you and some people. I have no misplaced nostalgia for ages about the attraction. I rode it about 3/4 times before Tianas. I've ridden Tiana's about 3/4 times now.I don’t think you view the parks as an art form if you truly believe any of that. But I also don’t believe that you truly believe any of what you said solely based on the last sentence. I can because it is, but this is not the time or place for that discussion.1. I love the parks as a true art form. Art is subjective. 2. My opinion is not based on anyones feelings. I liked Tianas when I rode it myself while not paying attention to the praises or critiques. My opinion has grown more harsh towards Splash mountain AFTER me liking Tiana's more and that was a fairly recent fad because I'm gotten sick of the Splash discourse everywhere.
Agree, it is not the time and place. You can of course jump into a peaceful DM if you feel so strongly though of course.I can because it is, but this is not the time or place for that discussion.
What I couldn’t tell you is why Splash Mountain is better than Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted Mansion because that is subjective.
Thank you, @Brer Oswald. I also listed Better Zoogether on there and I'm in the minority of folks who HATED It's Tough to Be a Bug. Just because I don't like the attraction it replaced doesn't stop Better Zoogether from being crappy. He put it in a list of recent projects that flopped…because it is one. So this is really just you being mad that people are saying bad things about an attraction you like? Sheesh, I don't throw a fit whenever somebody trash-talks Big Thunder Mountain Railroad...I prefer Tianas (when its in full working order) VASTLY over Splash. I can’t tell you how much I loved riding that on my visit to Paris I rode it several times. anything to relive catastrophe canyon!!!!Be happy we are not getting this attraction:
Also not local but much closer to WDW than DL and I have ZERO interest in Radiator Springs showing up anywhere in WDW.No. It’s coming from the perspective of someone who isn’t local. When the underwhelming “Cars” ride opens in 3 years, I suspect many will be changing their tone on clones. It will be the TBA complaints all over again, except this time people will be able to compare it to an actual living example of the IP done right. Also not local but much closer to WDW than DL and I have ZERO interest in Radiator Springs showing up anywhere in WDW.
To be fair, I also don't want what we are getting, but I and everyone I know things clones are terrible so I doubt it is as one sided as you make it out to be.
