Trip Report Finally Back in Our Happy Place. A Three Week Trip With a Cruise Included. Now with a Norway Cruise on the Disney Fantasy *COMPLETED*

We’ve been back for just over a week from what was a wonderful three weeks. There were a few hiccups, but for the most part Disney World was just as we remembered it.

This trip was me and my two youngest daughters, Alice (18) and Lexi (15)

We stayed at Pop Century from July 7th-20th, then sailed on the Disney Magic from July 20th-25th, then French Quarter for the last three nights, July 25th-28th. For the Pop Century part of the trip we had the UK 14 day park tickets which included the waterparks.

This was not something I wanted to see in my room 😭. Please can we just turn the ship around and go back to Norway

I was actually using the luggage labels this time. On my last few cruises I’ve kept my luggage with me so that I could do express walk off, but I wasn’t going to be in a rush to get off the ship the next morning so I put my cases out to be collected

Believe was the show in the Walt Disney Theatre and this always makes me cry. The part where the father is singing Baby Mine gets to me every time 😭

A last pre dinner drink in Ooh La La, this was the Elderbubble

I stepped out onto the verandah before bed and could see the south coast of England

The next morning I packed up the last of my stuff and said goodbye to my room host Eric who I would see again in six weeks as I would be in the room next door for my transatlantic cruise.

I went to the main dining room breakfast along with all my table mates which was nice to see them one last time, they had been good company. And said goodbye to my servers Kanya and Ayrton who’d been excellent.

Getting off the ship for a cruise that starts and ends in Southampton is so easy. I was checked off the ship, picked up my luggage and then walked straight out of the terminal, no other checks. It took maybe 10 minutes. Then straight on a Disney bus to Heathrow Airport to catch another bus home.

This had been a wonderful cruise, I had such a good time. The Fantasy is my favourite ship, it just nudges ahead of the Dream because I think the adult bar area is better. I’ve always had good service on Disney ships, but this cruise was the best. The crew just seemed more relaxed and less rushed and spent more time chatting which was lovely.

Norway was amazing and I would love to go back, Alice and Lexi really want to go so hopefully we’ll be back there in the next few years. I didn’t have the best weather, that part of Norway is very changeable all year round, but I just wore appropriate clothing and enjoyed it anyway.

Thank you to everyone who’s followed along with my seemingly never ending trip report, it’s lovely to interact with you all. I do still have my November transatlantic cruise and Disney trip to write about and I will start a new thread for that
Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed coming along for your adventures!

One of the reasons people take a cruise into Lysefjord is to see Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), a steep cliff with an almost completely flat top. One of the excursions Disney offered was a hike up to it which I’d thought about doing, but I’m quite glad I didn’t given how rainy and windy it was and I’m the sort of person to fall over my own feet

A photo I found online of Pulpit Rock on a sunny day

A lot of these rock formations look like they have faces in them.
That might be where the Norwegian troll legends come from
