Drop in Splash was to represent Briar Rabbit being thrown into the Briar Patch, so a literal drop while thrown like in the movie.

Frozen, well that is similar to TBA where they shoved an IP into an already existing attraction rather than purpose built. So it’s different. But if you want the story reason it’s because us being pushed out of Elsa’s Ice Castle and being chased by Marshmallow, similar to the movie where Elsa chased Anna out of the castle and Marshmallow chases her.

So yes from a story perspective there should be a reason story beat wise why there is a drop.

lol right first thing anyone who watched Brer Fox throwing Brer Rabbit in the Briar Patch in SotS thought was “they need to base a log flume drop ride” on this asap. It’s so obvious.

Ok and Miguel gets thrown off a cliff by Ernesto De la Cruz. Theres your reason and drop. Have you seen the movie?

Baxter obviously did.

But seriously you asked where the drop was in the movie and I gave it to you. Briar Rabbit is literally thrown and drops into the Briar Patch in the movie.

the idea was born from the desire to reuse the America Sings AAs and the fact that setting/ film would make for a nice log flume. Not to mention the music. Making sense of the drop was the last piece of the puzzle.

He isn’t dropped off a cliff, he is thrown into a pit, a cenote pit to be exact, a literal sinkhole.

Have you seen the movie?

lol ok clearly you forgot. The cenote is the first time he’s thrown down. The small “drop“ if you will. The climax of the movie he’s thrown off the cliff backstage at the concert and the alebrije / Dante save him.

But story beat wise it still fits, that is not the case here.

He is actually thrown out a balcony.

But unless you want to make that the climax of the ride instead of the beginning like Pirates, it doesn’t fit here. Also that would be a weak climax for a small drop.

Did it? It didn’t move the needle for me but I don’t get that impression when I’m visiting the park and the land/ attraction are slammed.

Park attendance dropped 10% in 2024 and it’s down further by an unknown amount in 2025.

Whatever bump was weird and fleeting. I’m sure crowds congregate around Mario Kart, but it’s not the sort of return I think they were expecting compared to elsewhere.

I think they mostly mean that the attendance boost was not sustained. USH only saw a boost the first year.

It’s hard to say if there was even a major boost. Attendance was up in 2023 - but so were most parks coming off the pandemic. Heck Epcot was up 5% more on a higher attendance base and a redo everyone seems unpleased about.

Oh I see. The wait time for Mario is always obnoxious and can’t believe how long the line gets for the worst theme park food I’ve had in my life - Toads Cafe.

Ya, separating the attractions popularity itself from the return on investment. It’s weird how much the needle was not moved, by what was a “big deal” addition for USH. And this seems just an oddity in Hollywood. It was huge in Osaka.

lol and the goal post keeps on moving.

So you did forget then? U just kind of glossed over that after asking me if Id seen the movie.

That meets your rationale for the drop justification (since you mentioned Marshmallow throwing them off the cliff). Not mine. I’d use a drop as a way to get in or out of the Land of the Dead as I’ve said before.

Goal post isn’t moving you said a drop fits the IP, I say it doesn’t. You brought in the other rides that have drops to try to prove something, I didn’t. I just answered your question on how they are used within the story of those specific rides. Not that I think it’s needed here. So again no goal posts moving since I never set a goal to begin with.

We can agree to disagree here. As I said before I don’t really care if it has drops or not. I just don’t think it needs it. If you do more power to you. I’m allowed to disagree.

My God. Why do I bother?

lol, well you like to try to convince me that your opinion is right and mine is wrong and that leads to these discussion.

Look I see your points, I just don’t agree with them. But as I’ve said now a bunch of times I don’t really care if it has drops or not. If it’s does cool, I’ll ride it, if it’s doesn’t cool I’ll still ride it. But my opinion is that it doesn’t need it for the IP and type of ride it is, save that for Avatar in my opinion.

Nah man a lot of that wasn’t in good faith. You get called out and then play dumb or change the subject. Good night.

lol, a disagreement is not something that isn’t in good faith, it’s just a disagreement. I do hate though when you say that, because I always discuss in good faith. Also I didn’t change the subject, I’ve stuck to the same subject. Which again is that while I don’t care if it has drops or not that I don’t think it needs it.

I see your logic, I just don’t agree with it, which is my right.

But for your sake, I do honestly hope
It gets drops, just to get you something you want, being 100% honest here.
