My family is going to be in the park near the end of March…. do we think this will be open by then?
Not looking promising. I think someone a few pages back mentioned it would be pretty abnormal to not have a specific date announced at least a month out.

I’m going very end of April and just hopeful (but not optimistic) that one of Buzz or BTMRR are open.

Thank you! It’s a family favorite and so I want to manage expectations.

There is a reason DL's attractions are in far better shape than their MK siblings and it has a lot to do with extensive refurbishments and not worrying about having arbitrary deadlines forcing them open before they are ready which WDW suffers from.

Yikes! Hopefully I'm wrong, but it doesn't look particularly close to re-opening. WDW could really use that ride capacity.
I am really shocked they didn't push to have this open for mid March through spring breaks
The entrance and exit path is still pretty torn up with construction work so it doesnt look like anytime soon.

Are we expecting that this will have the typical cycle of a "new" ride opening (cast members ride, pass holders ride, GP rides) or is this more likely to just be closed one day and open the next (to everyone) with minimal notice? The "movable hedges" are nowhere to be seen, so it seems like we still have a bit of a wait either way...

Seems likely, given that they will want/need to work out any wrinkles before opening to the public, especially if a new ride control system was installed. I would not make any guesses as to what those timelines would look like at this point.

I really think that the “three hour lines” thread has missed how much a hit to capacity BTMRR is, excluding shows, it’s got to be what the sixth largest capacity ride on a per day basis (PoTC, iasw, HM, VotLM, Space Mtn) with Buzz being probably 7th? It’s a massive hit to park capacity, especially since BTMRR has a line from opening to close.

We are laughing but it’s truly sad this is taking so long. It makes me think of my conspiracy theory that the Disney spreadsheeters want to stretch work across as many quarters as possible because it’s better for the books in some way.
I would agree with spreading the cost but honestly imo its strictly a money saving tool they have integrated into their financials by saving on overhead and paying cm’s and running rides/parks at full capacity. People still go whether things are open or not and the savings out weigh anyone who chooses not too…
