EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Your continued focus on one thing (the stuff hanging) while ignoring the truth that little else was improved is truly astounding.
Stores are WAY nicer and brighter imo, GotG is a great ride, Space 220 is awesome, the new entrance, the new Lights on Spaceship earth and new lighting all around the park is great, Moana is great.

Communicore hall is meh, ground lights not working is def bad, and I do miss the fountain but not as much as others it seems.

Let's put SSE in the category of "it needs a complete overhaul because it's old, at the end of its life, and will soon fall apart... but we'll just keep repairing it instead."
Its working for the monorails ;)

Seriously, in the end you will probably be right Penguin.

I truly fear that Disney will destroy SSE and replace it with something awful.:cry:

Just as bad, just shutter SSE and leave the sphere, a la WoL pavilion, Stitch's great escape at MK etc.

I also fear the WDW monorail will be simply shut down leaving the empty monorail beams there, a la the DLR Peoplemover :cry::cry:

I'm not saying it was life altering , but I definitely prefer the original look without the abundance of banners (even if your banner close ups are really overemphasizing what it actually looked like when there).

The fountain of nations was a major upgrade over whatever that potted plant is supposed to represent...and there used to be interesting things happening INSIDE the buildings, making it ok for the outside to be somewhat understated.

I guess they couldn't decide what to do so, they made it a jumbled corporate park hangout area - any feeling is diluted by this mish mosh - hence the forced loud music trying to bring some connectivity and cohesiveness.

Don't forget this was supposed to be a major upgrade - a long and expensive one at that. Guardians, Space 220, RAT/France expansion are all positives IMO (outside of the cheap facades in France that belong back in MGM studios) - but the spine needs a total revamp, so a giant waste of money that could have been better spent.

Hey, if barren, soulless off-white hospital cafeteria and gift shop motif is your thing, you're in nirvana there.
You are certainly free to have opinions about the style of Connections and Creations, but there are also facts to consider. No one could reasonably argue that Electric Umbrella and MouseGear were at all contemporary, much less futuristic. Meanwhile, the current interiors at least pass a contemporary, possibly futuristic.

Now that the damage is done, I can live with Connections and Creations, even shopping mall styled Club Cool (at least we did not lose it).

I can even live with the little garden area with Walt.

I do not like they jammed in the Moana splash pad.

And the rest of what we once knew as Future world is now garbage.

I think Imagination and SSE are a lock by EPCOT50.

That's six years.

Oh wait, now that I say it out loud. That's bad. They'd need to announce one like, this year.

Wonder if there's something or somewhere where they announce parks stuff at for this year.
Yes Disney likes to announce stuff about 6 years in advance so we should expect the announcement at the next D23 that SSE will be changing to an IP based family friendly coaster and Imagination will be changing to an IP based trackless dark ride with a character meet and greet ;)

Electric Umbrella and Mousegear were very contemporary for the late 1990s.

I actually do have issues with that. It falsely creates the impression that the current EPCOT is what Walt wanted which is clearly not true. If it was, the designers likely would have probably placed a Walt statue there in 1982 and they didn't.

IP based maybe but as we know a coaster would be structurally impossible.
