Lightning Lane Premier Pass

We have a group of 10 and have had great success with advance planning with the flexibility to drop out or change plans as required.

We do a lot of TS because it helps to have a schedule and my family enjoys TS restaurants. Also, planning rides in advance ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to do what they want - again, with the understanding that plans may have to be altered if circumstances change. Or some may need to drop out.

We’ve made more than 60 trips to WDW spanning 40 years with ever-changing group sizes and have never had an issue with lack of flexibility even though we have dining and ride reservations.

I’m sure what works so well for us would be disastrous for some other group. People have different preferences, priorities, personalities and circumstances.

What countries/states/areas are in a shutdown this week?

I remember long ago being in February that everyone had the same “great idea”…i think Louisiana had the Mardi Gras week off?

In Florida, Governor DeSantis gave state employees this coming Monday, 2/16 (Presidents Day) off. So more taking Presidents Day off than usual in Florida this year. This probably affects Tallahassee more than other areas around the state due to the concentration of state agencies.

UK schools are off this week or next, and parents will take kids out for a week if necessary.
A lot of US schools have a 4 day weekend from the 13-16…Presidents’ Day…

Disclosure: the last time we went in February…maybe 18? It was awful. Granted attendance as whole is much lower now…but I see the trend is holding in Jan/feb.

Lots of dvc with the same idea…which is often the case. Like Jersey week.

If Disney decides to make fewer Premier Passes available, doesn't that mean they actually control whether or not it sells out, which they could manipulate to make it seem like there is more demand for this than there is...right?
Yes, but doing that for an entire week would not make any sense, especially for a known busy week. I think people here are just going to have to face reality that this brings in money. Kind of the death knell for me because there is no chance I'm paying double or triple the entry price just to ride the rides, but losing my family and maybe the next generation just not the concern it once was.

You know it's optional right?

I do, and I know that on this random Feb. Tuesday morning, Hollywood Studios has 3 attractions (not meet and greets) that are under 45 minute waits (a spinning saucer ride, a stunt show, and Star Tours).
Right, but your options aren’t just Premier Pass or wait in line. You can still get the multi-pass or individual passes.

Most schools in the northeast have a week of vacation. Plus many other areas have a long weekend for President's Day. And this year Mardi Gras coincides with the week of President's Day which makes for a double-whammy.

It’s possible they make fewer Premier Passes available (while jacking up the price) on busy days to ensure there is enough LL capacity for the increased number of LLMP holders.
