The Mandalorian & Grogu (Lucasfilm - 2026 Theatrical)

I want to get excited about the prospect of the Mando-verse jumping to the big screen. Sadly, nothing about the marketing is helping to make that happen.

I appreciate they have some very unique challenges here (elevating a streaming/TV series to a theatrical audience, post sequel trilogy appetite for SW, first film that isn’t directly or peripherally connected to the Skywalker Saga films) but they are running a somewhat unconventional marketing plan here and I am not getting the sense it is working to build excitement and enthusiasm.

And the footage released so far looks very washed out and much like a video game.

More stupidity…

Yeah, Disney…you understand the Star Wars fandom so well…
Yea, I don't get this at all. I could maybe get behind it, if at the end it said, see the full trailer now online! All they've really done is make a lot of people ask, what's wrong with the film that they're not really showing it? And what they have shown, doesn't really spark a ton of excitement. I hope the first trailer really knocks it out of the park.

Tauntauns look appropriately derpy. I assume we’ll see them in the film.
“The journey never gets any easier, the bond just gets harder to break” is a nice synopsis of the entire series and film. I was hoping for a trailer, but it’s not like we won’t get one eventually. Honestly, the excitement going in should be what we don’t know. I have a feeling this will be a blast.

Or hot garbage

It this was made by paramount…you’d crap all over it and you know it

that's basically what every SB commercial is
Those that try to sell you stuff daily you wouldn’t think about…mostly…

A teaser commercial isn’t the issue…it’s that nothing about story or tone has been established and it’s getting late in the game. This doesn’t seem to be a serious effort here…and certainly not what the franchises needs

First Black Series figure from the movie. Pretty much a recycling of previous figures except Grogu is sitting! Oooh .

The "oooh, isn't Grogu cute" thing seems totally played out. I can't imagine how they stir up half a billion dollars in box office based on that, at the point. This movie better have something else going for it or it's going to be painful, for audiences and Disney.

What it does have going for it is timing. We haven’t had a Star Wars movie on the big screen in a while.

I hope it’s not trash. But if it is…it’s actually the perfect nail on top of the box for this “era” closing…isn’t it?

Whys that?
