News Disney California Adventure Park 25th Anniversary Offerings

It would've been nice if they brought back Heimlich for the anniversary. I'm sure they could've stuck it in somewhere. It can't be too expensive to do.

Let Epcot keep Soarin' Around the World, it makes sense there.

Update the California film with the newer ending ..and when the America version ends, just do California version for DCA. The end.

Yeah, they need to keep World exclusive to WDW. For DCA, keep CA exclusive, but I wouldn't mind a West Coast version or a Pacific Coast version as well.

They could definitely make some updates, but they really could at minimum make upgrades to the quality or something digitally, and change the ending out.

Yeah they need to to do something. Ideally, a refreshed CA version would come back full time and be exclusive to DCA. Now if they hit out of the park with Soarin Across America it might make the outdated looking CA version look even worse. If that’s the case than I’d be ok with switching back and forth between the two or randomizing it.

Not the point but I’ll never forgive the thematic inconsistency of Mickey Mouse on the “Pixar Pal-a-Round.”

Worse than TBA, the EPCOT spine issues, and Zootopia combined. 😂

It's kind of odd but I don't think they had a choice. I think they chose to rationalize keeping it based on the fact that it's the park icon, WOC backdrop and one of the most instagrammed spots on earth. All of which take precedence over the consistency of Pixar Pier. Which is not really a themed land for all intents n purposes but a land decorated with IP from a movie studio.

Damn, I'm gutted that I won't be back until the new Soarin' film is playing.

Who's Humphrey the Bear and what does he have to do with DCA?

Really? When was the last time you saw Soarin Over California? Don't get me wrong, I love it but it's definitely showing its age in regards to the image quality. I'd be more excited about Across America if I were you.

Admittedly, I haven't seen it in person since 2015.

BUT I loved loved LOVED Soarin' over California. The score, the film, the lack of stupid fake CGI animals throwing things in my face, even the track that they would play while they were loading that they changed for SATW for some reason is one that I find incredibly soothing and I've listened to multihour loops of that when I've been working just because I find it calming and relaxing.

Soarin' Around the World is lucky to get ridden once a trip. Soarin' over California was something I would try to ride at least once a day. It was, and remains to me, a far more offensive change than TOT to GOTG:MB. The Soarin' change was the first sign to me that DCA was going in the wrong direction.

I have almost booked trips to Disneyland in March several times in the past few years simply because of Soarin' over California (and to a lesser extent, Knott's Boysenberry Festival).

So frankly I'm kicking myself for allowing myself to get talked into flipping Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg because I imagine that now with Soarin' over the USA it'll be several more years at least before the real Soarin' comes back. Perhaps it would be a situation where when I saw it in person now, it would lose its luster. But I have seen MANY flying theater attractions and films now and not one of them has worked as well for me as the original Soarin' did.

This makes sense. I do think though that if you see it now in 2026 you’d probably agree with me and in hindsight rather take your chances on the new Across America version.

I don’t see how Soarin Around the World can be more offensive than TOT considering Soarin Over California still exists.

Marketing speak. The blog post mentions that "...the lighting effects [of the popcorn bucket] enhance the storytelling of some lands and attractions..." which is just ridiculous.

Oh lol yes that is ridiculous but I do appreciate the feature. They could have just let it speak for itself.

Soarin’ Around the World should be extinct at all domestic parks. America should stay at Florida and CA (remastered) permanently in CA.

Why would they make the Mickey face so off-model? He looks evil with that pointy chin!
