Speaking of the queue... I think this would be in a top 5 worst queue line for me in the park. Hope they do something about it, too. But im not expecting it.
That seems to be a signature element of most Iger-era WDI projects. And hopefully not like the Shanghai Tomorrowland that looks like a corporate office park....
Not ... really? This complaint surfaces only for Tomorrowland, Future World, and Avengers areas, largely because that aesthetic thematically fits with them, even if you don't like it or don't think it's a particularly good choice for a themed environment. There have been far more examples of other styles being used during his tenure. That seems to be a signature element of most Iger-era WDI projects.
As long as people remember it was "suggested" and not a fact to keep repeating in the internet echo chamber...yesterday TPM suggested it's likely because of the asbestos....idk

My push here continues to be for something akin to Aquatopia from DisneySea. It's inherently themed from all sides (which is necessary considering it's basically surrounded), it helps offset the loss of a major water feature on the opposite side of the park, and it transitions way better from Fantasyland in Tomorrowland. You could even add a Nautilus prop into the nook behind Mad Tea Party for good measure.
- I feel Speedway's "got to go;" it's going to look even more run-down/dated/basic/unPC/etc. after Piston Peak opens. Like w/TSI, they don't have to worry about Utilidoors, or even much demo relatively speaking. It should be the next attraction to get the "chopping block" imo...but only for something really WOW.

you just reminded me of all the extra bodies of water in the "blue sky" EPCOT redo renderingI've thought Aquatopia would be a nice addition to the central spine at Epcot but this is a good idea as well.
Which art? The initial one for this round of changes had a central fountain and suggested the existing water around the bridge to World Showcase would be reshaped slightly (as well as the bridge itself), but beyond that, I don’t recall it indicating any other water that wasn’t built (i.e. Moana).you just reminded me of all the extra bodies of water in the "blue sky" EPCOT redo rendering
I just took another good look at it. You're right. But it still looks amazing.Which art? It was visually better, but I’m honestly kind of glad it didn’t come to fruition. We ultimately lost about a quarter of the indoor space in World Celebration. That art suggested we’d lose in the neighborhood of 60-70% of it. It removed what is now Creations, it lopped off a massive chunk of Project Tomorrow (including the area where Geo-82 now resides), and had an even smaller and less accessible Festival Center. As disappointing as the central feature area and CommuniCore Hall are, they feel a lot more correctable than knocking down almost every indoor space in the center of a Florida park.I just took another good look at it. if/when they correct....As disappointing as the central feature area and CommuniCore Hall are, they feel a lot more correctable than knocking down almost every indoor space in the center of a Florida park.
I’m hoping whoever takes over as CEO wants to use EPCOT’s 50th (and perhaps Tomorrowland, circling back to the thread) to make their mark on the parks since the other ongoing things will still be seen as belonging to Iger.if/when they correct....
The only reason Communicore Hall exists is because of Covid. Not that I cared for the original plan either and if it were up to me Communicore West would still be standing. It was visually better, but I’m honestly kind of glad it didn’t come to fruition. It really depends on what kind of "mark" they make.I’m hoping whoever takes over as CEO wants to use EPCOT’s 50th (and perhaps Tomorrowland, circling back to the thread) to make their mark on the parks since the other ongoing things will still be seen as belonging to Iger.
I mean... It's not impossible that West could eventually return. It'd be tough to do financially (and otherwise) in terms of justification, but it's not impossible, especially if they find a reason to have it.The only reason Communicore Hall exists is because of Covid. It should not have been demoed to begin with, and I have never seen Disney ever re-build something they have demolished or ever admit it made a mistake in anything.I mean... The Communicore buildings seemed to be the very last ones constructed (assembled?) before the 1982 opening....the above-ground part didn't seem to take long at all (if I have time, I'll double-check this timeframe...but it seemed to be less than a few months).I mean...
