It’s offered year round, is an actual meal, they grill it on stage and is very customizable (beef/chicken/fish/combo of two/tofu with salad/noodles/hash/rice base with a choice of three different sauces topped with a sweet coleslaw and boba balls of passion fruit juice. It’s unique, not something you’ll find elsewhere, hardy and not complete junk (you can make it not as healthy but any combo is still healthier then most theme park choices.)
As I said to the other post I'll have to take your word for it.

It sounds good, and I’ve heard all good things. Haven’t tried it yet myself. However, the concept is pretty widespread where I live. Pick a base, pick a protein, etc. Lots of “bowl places“ around here. I guess that factors into why I haven’t bothered.

Concept wise - yes. But the execution is really well done here.

There are similar bowls at the counter service at animal kingdom lodge and they aren’t even close to the same quality - and they are fine.

And then there is the bowl at pecos bills which isn’t worth the cardboard it’s served in…. Actually the cardboard bowl may taste better! I should have tried! :p

Maybe this is why it doesn't seem very "special" to me when you guys first described it, its something that CA has lots of around the state, for example about two dozen such places just within 5 miles of where I live, heck its basically Chipotle (which I know lots of people like) in concept. I personally never really liked the concept outside of a Disney Park setting so why would I like it inside a Disney Park setting, which is why it seems uninspiring to me. That isn't to say that the AK version isn't executed well, it probably is, again I'll have to take your word for it. But its just not something that I want in theme park food so if it does come to DCA with Avatar it won't be something I go for. But you guys like it so more power to you.

Well yeah - there’s very little to nothing that is truly “special” served in the Disney parks. I can technically get a dole whip at my local yogurt shop, but I’d have to bring my own pineapple juice to make a float.

We are not talking about the unique concept of a bowl, just like we aren’t talking about the unique concept of a bbq restaurant when we like Polite Pig. It’s the execution and quality that is exceptional.

Why so focused on WDW food? You know this is the DLR side of the forum right?

Anyways the point is that you gave this whole dig against PYM’s being “nothing special”. And well if all of it isn’t “special” because it’s in a theme park than I don’t know what the whole point of the dig against PYM’s was for.

Remember that a lot of us here on the DLR side of the forum are local to CA, and we have lots of world class food all over the place. This is why unless it’s a TSR it’s all just theme park food to me. As long as it tastes good and it brings me comfort that is all I care about. Because at the end of the day theme park food is just comfort food to me.

But you enjoy it and that is all that matters, so as I said more power to you.

Was about to make a mental note to myself that if I want to read about food in Avatar land at WDW I need to go to the Galaxy's Edge thread in the Disneyland forum.
I mean there is only so much to be said about “they changed a sign” - comparing the quality of other counter service restaurants doesn’t seem to be that crazy of a concept.

I’ll always get a veggie ronto wrap instead of the counter service. At DL I’ve had great luck getting soda water at the ronto location - only a few places have it - or know they have it

Did you have anything to add to the discussion?

Disneyland says Pink milk will be available starting January 8 at Milk Stand in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge:

It drives me crazy that disney doesnt use space more wisely with newer expansions. There could have been additional seating or dinning on the second level of many buildings in galaxy edge and avengers campus.

Like how much they crammed into the Springfield section of universal studios Hollywood. Pyms should have had an entire upstairs seating area which would have also helped with sidelines.

Now THIS is exciting! The music score we’ve all hoped for is coming.

R2D2 will continue to roam? I’ve never ran into him once. What is he out there - one hour a month?

The music and Vader are the best part of this. The face characters can stay home. Although I have seen a really good Rey before. The land is still sorely missing kinetic energy, more moving droid and creatures/ aliens.

It’s possible that the music will stimulate and satisfy our brains so much that we won’t miss the other missing parts.
