I hate to say it but it was actually better than Pixar's own idea of an in-universe tie-in.

The contrast between the two is fascinating. The 2000s gave us jaunty adventure with a fun cast of aliens and interplanetary plots, plus Patrick Warburton. The 2020s gave us...none of that. But lots of brooding.

Perfect representation of two eras, tackling the same prompt.

Was Lightyear released in this decade or the 2010s, I honestly don't remember since I kind of blocked out the memory of seeing it from my mind?

New Buzz Lightyear Permit Suggests Exterior Signage Refresh Coming to Magic Kingdom

I kept trying to convince myself that was because of the 2D TV show...but even that ended almost-exactly a quarter century ago.

I always felt the sign was "insult to injury," as, although I'm grateful it's getting "plussed," I still don't believe it should have ever come to Tomorrowland.

Good riddance.

Everyone can relax. In an effort to improve his standing with the theme park fan community, Bob Iger personally designed the signage for this. Looking forward to…

Oh thank goodness. It’s so atrocious.
I was bit confused on this theming...In the past they stated it was Inspired by the opening of Toy Story 2..However, when you exited into the gift shop there was half cut wall statue of Booster and on the opposite wall it was an image of the chief from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command TV show..Hopefully they fixed that bit of confusement..
