I’m not here to say “oh yay Disney is building something new” - i am here to say things like “would John Hench have chosen that shade of blue?”

This reminds me of a story I read from John Hench…
Someone once told him they wanted something painted white. He replied something to the effect of “I’ve got 31 shades of white in my color palette, which one would you prefer?”…!!!!! :hilarious:

If anyone is wondering what this clearance could look like, here's my earlier prediction.

I cant quite work out if the plan is to set all infrastructure for future expansion of villains (or different IP) now and be able to come back to it Universal-style quite quickly. or if the villains is far bigger than predictions, although i haven't heard anything beyond two attractions

Looks like you nailed it!

I just hope they find a way to make a fireworks viewing backdrop in this new VL. The hub is going to need the help.

The work behind Small World is interesting. There was a permit back in 2014 to impove the back stage facilities in that area but the project never happened. The line running through the pond is a high voltage underground supply line which might have to be delt with if they are building anything on top of it.

It would make sense they need to add break rooms, storage, parking, other backstage stuff. It would make sense to me to add some of that stuff where the other is. I could also see that as being “unexpected” as they probably wouldn’t put that in the promo materials.

I would say the area you have labeled in the red if definitely for this project. Whether it be a hotel, the coaster show building. or the coaster itself. no way they get that land ready to just do nothing with it

I think it’s about the same size as the large construction area they created for galaxies edge across world drive.

I’m not sure if the correct term is “lay down yard” or construction staging?
That was not used for lay down. The area across World Drive was used for water management and the dirt was used as fill on the Galaxies Edge site. That areas served and continues to serve its intended purpose.

Is the large showbuilding behind HM for the roller coaster or something separate? It doesn't look like it's connected in your map.

The DHS laydown yard was across Osceloa by ESPN and it was about 30 acres...

Everything that the permits call out as laydown yard add up to about 30 acres also...

I was under the impression that Villain's Land isn't going to expand beyond the train tracks, and as far as I know Disney isn't re-routing the train track, so Villain's Land will stay within the existing boundary of the park, unfortunately
