I know, I know, that's the busiest time of year to go, but hear me out! Christmas sucks for us right about now! And we decided that instead of staying home and wallowing in our sorrow, we would go somewhere and try to keep ourselves busy. Christmas 2022 obviously sucked, but we were so numb at that point that it's all a blur. Then 2023 was horrific and felt like the first Christmas without Lily. Needless to say, I didn't feel like decorating nor celebrating, so we didn't do a whole lot that year. Last year, I still couldn't bring myself to decorate, but we tried to attend a few celebrations and ease back into things. My anniversary trip with Brian last year helped get me closer to remembering that I used to love Christmas and all the decorations, but I'm still not sure I would be able to decorate the house this year either, so now I won't have to worry about it too much! The boys don't necessarily want to go anywhere, but they grudgingly agreed to go with us when I promised we would make it as laid back and stress free as possible, which I know means we will miss seeing and doing a lot of things! As you can surmise from my picture, we are staying at Caribbean Beach again. I booked two (hopefully connecting) standard view 5th sleeper rooms. I am going to request to be in Trinidad again this year.

Trip Report I May Have Done a Thing... (now the actual report)(and finished!)

Yep, we're supposed to be 55 and rain on Thursday, then back to 24 on Friday!

I know it sounds strange, but as we never see snow anymore where we are in the UK I am so jealous of you having all that snow. Now we are retired I wouldn’t mind a few feet deep of it.

Me too! Too much snow on the ground here and no snow day off of school yet!
But only one until we leave!
And the weather looks like it will be wonderful!
I'm still taking jeans and capris in addition to shorts and long sleeves and sweatshirts just in case, but I'm going to leave the winter coat and gloves at home!
Slight wrinkle though...I am dealing with sciatic pain in my left leg which could become a major issue. I've never had it before, so wouldn't you know that my first time would be right before a trip with lots of walking! Getting comfortable to sleep is my major issue right now, but I've been able to rest since I've been home a couple of days and work has been on the slower side due to the upcoming holidays, so not sure how an active week is going to go. Guess I'll find out quickly!!
Not a care in the world that she is knocking down my clothes pile while I'm trying to pack!
But they are so cute, so they get forgiven!

So sorry to hear you are suffering from sciatica. I think it is one of the worst pains you can get and like you said it’s trying to get comfortable.

Thanks! Luckily being in the car hasn't bothered me yet since we have a 14 hour drive. It will be my luck that tomorrow will be the day I can't sit comfortably!So sorry to hear you are suffering from sciatica. Could be worse - my two jump into the open suitcase whenever I try to pack. Since I usually board them when we go away, I end up having to wait until I get back from dropping them off.
I haven't actually opened a suitcase yet, just using the packing cubes, so they will likely do that as well!

We made a quick stop for Chick fil A breakfast.
And we just left Ohio and entered Kentucky. 8 more hours on the road today.

We just finished our second Buc-cee's stop of the trip. The first was at Richmond, Kentucky, but I wasn't feeling well and didn't take any pics. I took a Zofran and feel much better now.
