Emmy and Audrey came by this afternoon to help us do a bit of Christmas decorating inside and out…!!!!! :inlove::happy:
They helped us put up our yard blowup Santa and reindeer from last year, wrap our front porch column with colored lights, put up a blowup Santa bear (which they absolutely love :inlove:), and we watched a WDW Christmas parade, while they helped us decorate our main tree…!!! :geek:

Then, they helped us decorate our second tree in MILs former front room…!!! :)
This ol’ Pappy loves his granddaughters sooo very much…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

My BFF and I were kind of famous in our neighborhood for "doing stuff" together. You didn't really hear one of our names without the other attached. We weren't bad, just maybe a bit rowdy.

To the point where, when she had children (I have not been as fortunate) she named her oldest daughter after me, and her younger daughter after herself. So that "siobhan and maura" could continue to be a thing for another generation. Though they seem to be much better behaved than we were, yet perhaps more adventurous, since they both studied, lived, and worked abroad, which we never did.

Yea, we never really did anything criminal, per se :cautious::cool:, but there were times we were a bit…off the chain…???!!!!! 🤔:hilarious:;):)
To this day, I still sometimes wonder how I survived this long, as we drag raced, dove off quarry lake cliffs, swam across vast lake coves, rock climbed, drank, etc.
I thank God that Carolyn came along in the mid 80’s and straightened me out…!!!!! :angelic::hilarious:;)

That is very cool about the daughters of your good friend…!!! :)
I’m also very sincere when I say I am sorry y’all never had children, because it sounds like y’all really wanted to.
Either way, it sounds like you and your hubby have had a long and beautiful life together, and continue to do so, and that’s really the most important thing…!!! :)

I was confused at first but now I am like "how cool of an idea is this". I named my first son after my best friend we lost too young. Names mean something. Yours story may be the coolest I have ever heard.

I have great neighbors. Tonight it was my turn. My doorbell was ringing over and over and my cameras had already told me someone was there, I pulled on sweats ( I don't sleep in much) and gun in hand I opened the door. It was my friend from 2 doors down. She told me I think Jim is dead. I I didn't know what to do, but I knew you would. She was in her nightgown and it was about 25F out. I invited her in and said stay here. I think she is 90 and Jim maybe 92?. I ran down to their house. Jim was indeed dead and had been for a while. No pulse, no breath and he was ice cold. I called my next door neighbor who is a Nashville fire Capt. Thank God he was off shift. He and he wife went to my house to look after June. I called 911 and waited. What a crap night. But she came to me for help. That meant something. And no I couldn't do anything. The fact she thought I could really meant something. If I remember correctly he had stage 4 colon cancer. If I make it to 92 I am good with that. I did really love Jim and in his younger days (80's) we watched a lot of football together.

How awful for June, just before the holidays. But what a great community you live in, where neighbors still look out for one another.
