Walt’s plane…!!! ;)

Seriously, though. I don’t have anything from WDW, but we do have a piece of a fixture from the old “pink & green” mall Disney Store (long ago closed) I was a CM at for 4+ years (‘09-‘13).
I was a Lead Manager at the time, and I and our SM were disassembling the fixture that had our park ticket cards and gift cards hanging on it.
We were no longer going to sell park tickets and the gift cards were going in drawers behind the cash wrap. The entirety of the fixture was supposed to be taken out back to the crusher and destroyed, also being witnessed by both of us, as per company policy.
Anyway, there was this abstract castle piece that slipped into a slot at the top of the fixture that I always thought was cool.
My SM knew I liked it and she told me to quickly take it out to my car and not say a word to anyone. Done.
I gave it to our oldest daughter and SonIL and they used the piece in both of our granddaughters nurseries for their cribs.

That store also had all the “big fig” scenes above about the 7’ line. Oh, how I would have loved to have many of those…!!! :)

Below is a pic of the fixture castle piece, and also a pic of Plush Mountain from the old store, showing the Foulfellow (“Honest John”) and Gideon “big figs” in the far upper left corner…there were many more!!! :geek:

Reminds me of a story one of my former coworkers told about how they worked at the Disney Store at the mall I work at when it closed. They said that they had all claimed statues and stuff, but they were all destroyed like immediately before they could be taken.

Yea, some may have got away with some stuff, but that location closed well after I quit working there.
We took everything damaged, recalled, etc. out to the crusher to be destroyed. If it was a Christmas ornament that had been damaged, new cups where paint was chipping off, broken merch received in shipment, etc. We had these beach chairs for kids at one point, that were collapsing and pinching them. All were destroyed.
It was crazy to me how some of these products ever even got approved to be as widely distributed as they were. It’s like they were, many times, just getting crap out the door just to get crap out the door, and not caring about quality one bit.
Initially, my wife and myself talked about retiring to Florida someday, and happily working at WDW.
Nope, plenty fine here in Texas, thank you.
We couldn’t, in good conscience, support them in that way anymore.
I was raised on a lot of Disney, and will always absolutely love what Walt started, but the company has really gone off the rails over more recent years.
