I think its worth remembering that this will not be how you picturing memories of Rivers it at the moment, Tom Sawyer island was dead centre, this going to be much closer to us. I have overlaid the layout onto a 3D map file. you can see that actual Piston Peak (white and gray on image) is nearer to the edge, you are unlikely to see BTM until you walk around it either left or right - the architectural concept art has a ton of trees for blendingView attachment 893336
This is a great illustration, thank you.

But it makes me a little bit concerned once again about the optics of a road rally directly visible from the porch of Liberty Tree Tavern. And the noise. Especially since there doesn't appear to be a water feature in that particular spot.

It shows trees and/or water on the artwork

This is fairly to scale sight line chart to further explain what im talking about.

This is not how it will actually work and would be deceptive even it were since it's a flat illustration projected onto an area that will have significant elevation changes. The entire boardwalk, part of which you've circled, will still be situated over water and will generally look into rockwork and trees that conceal the show building and ride paths.

EDIT: Too slow.

according to the June 2nd ("damage control") data-dump"field day" 🤷‍♀️: "In addition to sightlines, Imagineers are actively working on plans to mitigate the sound pollution, particularly from the main attraction, where guests will join an off-road rally race. They assured that guests will hear the attraction where intended, and won’t from places where it would make little sense. To achieve this, they’ll be employing techniques such as a certain trail pitch for the ride path, landscape buffers, adjusting audio mixes, and more."

Have you queued in Sindbad/Lost Continent and heard the motorbike rumble of the train coming into hagrids hut? theres no mitigation there just a line of trees at all and thats same distance , its not that bad

while concerned about noise I do recall this area will face a mountain/waterfall so hopefully that balances it out and makes it a nice viewing area in the shade. Im more curious how this will look over by Tianas where it looks like they're gonna build a small mountain

By "upper" are you referring to the Northern portion of the former Rivers of America ?
Yes.

They’ve most of cleared that, but not the area north of it’s a small world (i.e., the area east of the northern portion of the river).

I hope this means they’re getting to it later, rather than that it’s not going to be part of the land (e.g., for the dark ride’s show building).

What noise is everyone talking about. Is it Big Thunder Mtn. or Piston Peak cars. That water fall will block Big Thunder more than anything they have ever had and the cars are electric motors, pretty silent so that the waterfalls should cover most all of that as well. We have started worrying about things that no one has said was even going to happen.

Meant this gray mound in the other art. but who knows what is actually gonna get built
I get you, the vector map is a caricature .

I looked into it in a bit more detail for you and cross referenced the artwork. ive marked approximately where there rockwork will be sitting , when you compare its size to the trees in that location theyre about 7-12 metres tall which is not insignificant but its not mountain sized.....It sees like it will act a sort of screen maybe for a fast section of track, seems a lot smaller than the vector thing makes it out to be

there's no small mountain bud
I never "zoomed in" (no pun intended!) to the concept art before your post.... b/c I was always too shocked to think beyond the shock of seeing the placement of the land (I'm not griping about it...that's a long-lost cause; just explaining why I never looked closely before).

I never noticed any Cars cars before. Yet...There. Are. So. Many.

Cartoony cars...Cartoony cars everywhere!

Now I'm actually more nervous now about the end result...here's hoping they know what they're doing 😬

I'm still not seeing any water in front of Haunted Mansion in any released concept art....fingers crossed? Wishful thinking??

there is no bridge over the water in any of the art so it appears the water will end wherever the pathway leads into the piston peak area.

The actual piston peak will be a dead end - there is no path through it in the art.
There doesn’t have to be a bridge there to include water since it could technically connect to a water feature in the villain area. We really don’t have any good points of reference for what it’ll look like over there since the art generally trails off toward HM in everything that’s been released. Personally, I’d prefer the entire queue get redone and just have the mansion overlook a larger graveyard and gardens or something.
