AI has ruined so much already; I hope it doesn’t ruin Disney too.

I can’t even bring myself to open and read the article.

This reads as classic Boomer regurgitation of "AI good, AI solve all problems" that we're seeing in every sector of Capitalism. My job has us lying and saying AI is helping us complete our tasks, because the higher ups are more concerned with saying we're solving x% of tasks with AI than realizing AI won't actually help our needs. Hopefully something similar happens here.

I have all AI turned off on both my work and personal laptops.

As someone who works in the tech industry….CEOs have to say “AI” because it’s the new hot buzzword. In reality, most aren’t getting from it (at least not yet) what they expected or hoped. I won’t be surprised to see this bubble pop at some point. Certainly good capabilities here, but it’s not all magical rainbows and unicorns like everyone wants you to believe.

What’s also interesting is how much automation is being called AI when there’s no real “intelligence” to it and could have been done years ago.

It is a bubble, and we'll be lucky if all 3 major theme park companies come out of it unscathed. Likely they will.

I do wish they could have built a better system than CDS using AI though - the bane of my bloody existence!

Ughhhh. Absolutely hating how everything in my life is becoming (AI POWERED)

I know. It sounds good to the shareholders. But its Disney. Creative should come first and AI is the opposite of anything creative.

I was talking about this with my fiance the other day but I have a lot of open tabs and on every single one, it was offering something "AI!!!!"

Things are just gonna keep getting crappier and crappier. Don't get me wrong, I use AI sometimes to do menial tasks that I have a hard time with. But absolutely nothing creative or of any actual substance.

This will backfire, when the new CEO comes in next year (as expected), either if it’s Josh, Dana, or whoever; one of their first moves they do is to kill off any and all AI Generated programs at the company
