Where does it say Avatar doesn't make money?
Avatar would be included in that blip…

They’re saying their movies are in the crapper into next year.
And to put that to paper is the equivalent of pulling bobs teeth out

Not to muck this thread up…If would like to read the same 5 people try to slink out of the movie studios posting another dismal year…which is like 3 outta 4 post plague?…it’s in the box office thread

There were 4 days in 4Q2024 (the prior year, Sept 24-27) in which WDW attendance was likely impacted by tropical storms/hurricanes. So this year's 1% decline in attendance should be viewed in that context.

There were storms in 1Q2025 too, but that's for the next call.
1% down in attendance...

5% increase in per person spending.

Re: YouTubeTV, you have to chuckle at the “we’re not going to discuss ongoing negotiations” one minute, then ending the call with a discussion of the ongoing negotiations (albeit a one-sided “discussion”).

I believe they mentioned it, but Avatar is being released late Q1 so they expect the impact to split over Q1 and Q2, hence the lower guidance for Q1.

Personally the upcoming slate doesn't do much for me, but it does makes sense.

Theatrical releases for 2025 Q1 totaled around $400-500 in budget.

Already for Q1 2026 at about $400M in releases without adding in Zootopia 2 and Avatar’s costs, which Zootopia will probably be around $200M and Avatar another $250M+ considering the Way of Water was $460M
