DAK “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

Someone else claimed a Gazelle animatronic was originally supposed to drop down out of the ceiling at the end, Country Bears style. This wouldn’t have fixed the terrible story but would have helped the overall experience and provided a wow moment. The problem with having any character in theater is this whole “live stream” nonsense though.
It's even weirder that an animated character couldn't sing a song for
"Legal reasons" I guess Disney's character voices weren't allowed to make a substitute voice for her because of that..

So now at DAK it's just Tropical Americas left to complete.

If this is a hit, maybe they'll need to consider adding a Zootopia land just north of Kali.

I’m not sure how this directly relates to Iger or how him leaving would potentially change this for the better. The IP mandate is only a fractional part of the issue. His exit could signal the end of the IP fixation (though I very much doubt it), but it won’t magically unlock more impressive attractions or better storytelling capabilities within Imagineering.

I also somewhat doubt a project like this really goes that high in any meaningful way. Stopping and ending at pursue projects with synergy. The content execution rests on the laurels of the directive talent and writing behind the short itself.

By all accounts, I do very much believe this one sounds bad from what everyone is saying. Particularly the movie itself.

Nor does it really give much indication of their other near future projects, from different studios with different directorial efforts and different project teams. Monsters can of course still be even worse; but that’s hopefully unlikely if they don’t fall down a cloying “social media - the attraction” angle.
