FYI, its about 4,200 feet walking distance between Beak and Barrel and the Steakhouse 71 Lounge.

You don't? Unless you are going to section the place off into an Adult Section vs Family section, having hosts keep track of the demo on who they are seating, or restricting reservations so you only have x number of family reservations or number of adult per seating period, and making sure that you don't have people getting stuck waiting long past their reservation time because you are seating too many adult parties vs family parties or vice versa seems pretty complicated to me for no real ROI? Seems a lot simpler to just be first come first serve, and if you don't like it, either wait for another table, or go someplace else.

Generally speaking (outside of WDW), restaurant hosts have some flexibility when deciding where to seat people. I did.

Parties with small children were seated away from the bar area, for example. Known regulars often got some preferential seating.

It depends on the place, the vibe they are trying to cultivate, how busy, etc.

I mean just think about it for a moment. Reliable regulars are preferable to non-regulars.

Most regulars at least.

The aversion seems to work both ways, as the poster you're responding to doesn't like being seated with childless groups.

I think some parents feel judged by childless people. Side vent - my worst mom experiences in the wild thus far have actually been with other parents. I pretty much avoid eye contact so I would never know if a non parent was shooting me a dirty look about my kid whining in public. When your kid gets in a tiff with someone else’s kid at the playground though? Ay yi yi.

Either way, it just doesn’t seem like a super relevant distinction to me. Some people are great, some people kinda suck, some groupings are just going to be awkward. Kids or no.

Steakhouse 71 needs more love! Great food and drinks! And usually a pretty easy reservation to snag!

Why?

Bottom line, the corporation offers entertainment they think is the best compromise between construction cost, operating cost and return on investment consistent with their corporate vision.

If you have a problem with any of the situations you mentioned, you have two choices --
(1) stop going
(2) pay up and enjoy what the corporation offers

saw that - wonder if people were stealing the initial version or if they were just not holding up to use/abuse

Definitely a bummer and reduces the theming but if people were stealing them hard to blame Disney for changing them, so interested in the motivation

And re-earning my business in the swamps is not going to easy. DVC is not an anchor, it can be cast aside... well, whenever my wife decides to agree with me. Not that anyone in TDO or Burbank gives a damn.

Finally get to add my review! We loved the Beak and Barrel, the theming was incredibly immersive and the family member who was with me was thoroughly impressed. Two complaints: one, the animatronics appeared to be down so we got CM led songs instead. Two, the pacing was difficult as we got our food and first drink around minute 25 and our second drink around minute 40. With that 45 minute window it’s tricky if your order doesn’t come out extremely fast. Overall though, we had a fantastic time. Perfect addition to our time at MK!

Those that have ordered the corn cakes with or without chicken, were your selections anything near warm or moist ? Both times ours were cold and dry.

Those who have tried the Treasure Trove, did yours have a discernible flavor ?

We got the corn cakes without the chicken, and it was one of the best things we had the entire trip. It was the perfect temperature and texture.

I thought the corn cakes were great although it’s kinda hard to mess up cornbread and cheese. I don’t recall the temperature one way or another so must have been fine. Definitely not dry.
