I think the height of evilness for Disney's villains was the Coachman; heavily hinted to be a demon, runs a giant child slavery operation with the added transformation horror element that removes all hope of rescue, and in the end not only gets away with everything but is presumably still doing it! All without the movie skimming over anything, it really wanted you to be frightened by this.

Now, their attempts to make classic villain results in Magnifico. Who is such a giant wimp that half the audience doesn't even think he was wrong.

I would make the argument that he's the worst one they've made, but Hans exists, so at least he's better than him.

Sorry to bump this again, but I kind of realize after much thought and even though I still love the movie despite it's flaws, I just found out that Wish being a flop becomes a hero! The reason I said that, since both Strange World and Wish flopped, Jared Bush the CCO of WDAS is officially bringing back hand drawn animation with Ron Clements coming out of retirement to train new hand drawn animators and storytellers. Here's the article:https://www.thewrap.com/jared-bush-interview-walt-disney-animation-zootopia-2/ Here's another article in case that WRap article got blocked with paywall: https://www.hindustantimes.com/htci...id-director-ron-clements-101750496252190.html In other words, wish being a flop is a signal of ending the anti 2d animation agenda! I know it may sound silly and a bit easy to be skeptical, in fact, I'm going to be cautiously optimistic, but I think there's a chance that we'll finally see hand drawn animated features again! Or better yet, hybrid style animated films is also possible! Just saying!😉
Maybe they should just hire decent writers to create a decent story instead of switching techniques?

Funny you should say that! Because Ron Clements come out of retirement and return to WDAS to mentoring not only new hand drawn animators, but also new storytelling writers. ;)
I see that as more PR than actually helping the situation. He is too old to manage new story and art by himself. There needs to be new ideas and fresh blood and to stay away from politics. Stories shouldn't be mandated at the executive level. They need to market to the majority not nitch markets that may or may not care about their product. They need a well thought out story that is intelligent.

If you're going to be negative about it, then never mind! Geez, discussion forums are filled with negative people! That's just sad! 🙄

Fine! Then I should’ve keep it to myself! Sometimes, I hate discussion forums!🙄
People aren’t always going to agree with you. Just because you are exciting for something don’t let someone else take away that excitement.

Also while reading the stuff you presented I honestly wouldn’t get my hopes up just yet. Talking about something in the press is a whole lot different than an actual project being approved and created. So let’s just wait and see what happens over the next several years to see if Disney really does announce a new 2D animation project.
