My wife and I went to WDW on our honeymoon in 2002 and I wanted to get Disney Dollars from that year for an anniversary present. Are there different ones from each of the Disney parks? The internet wasn’t very helpful.
Thanks.

If you are asking to purchase Disney Dollars for a gift now, you are out of luck. Disney Dollars are no longer available for purchase.

you can still redeem them for face value...but I'd rather get many times more on ebay . A friend has one $1 note. Keeping it for sentimentality. That's cool too.
Disney made a lot of money on them. Over the years lots of people bought them for themselves as a souvenir to take home or took them home and stashed them in a drawer and forgot about them. Since they were never redeemed Dis in effect has collected a lot of profit. ( Businesses have to disclose $$$ that's been made from unused gift cards and gift certificates sold but I believe FL doesn't require them to.) Collectors and sellers make out when they sell a bill to someone that's in good condition and they can get a huge profit from a bill.

Don't know why they no longer offer the option anymore unless people were forging them? Seems literally like 'money left on the table'. It's also a way of making money without seemingly annoying people as it's not like an upcharge event and doesn't affect those who don't want to participate.

Which is why Disney isn't tickled by redeeming the occasional old admission ticket.

They predated gift cards by many years. They were the gift cards of the time. Today there are gift cards for virtually everyplace, but as a kid I only knew of Disney Dollars and Publix gift certificates (actual certificates...and there was this belief it only went to those in true financial need). But I think they'd get a positive response for bringing them back🤷
