Disney not serving as their own architect or engineer of record goes back to the 1950s.
The creative inspirations originated from Disney, that's the difference.
Same for ride system manufacturing, going all the way back to Arrow and all the stuff they built at Disneyland. Or companies like Martin Marietta being involved in building the Mark IV Monorail. Or the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror involving Otis and evolving out of a concept to use an Intamin ride.
No one is expecting Disney to build an elevator motor or a monorail. But the design and concept originated from within WDI and was given to a vendor to implement.
Gensler did have a bunch of people poached and get a lot of work beyond their base level of competency from an operator’s internal creative design firm, but that wasn’t Disney.
Bob Weis and Ann Johnson had a fully integrated relationship with them while with WDI. Numerous projects were done with Gensler.
But sure, all we have to do is look, because your real issue isn’t the specifics of project delivery. That’s what matters and the specifics of the criticism don’t really matter because they don’t look right.
That's just indecipherable word salad.

That’s what still happens.

They went to Gensler who has been trying to get into the industry… but maybe you could name some of these projects where Gensler was given an outsized design role.

That's just indecipherable word salad.
Ignorant bigotry, as I said up front. You’re complaining about how people look, on social media to boot.

You’ll find the “specifics” of the criticism when something outwardly sucks won’t matter one bit

Really? We’re still clinging to the “the look is just as important as the product…these fools will buy anything…but we need to look hyper moral at Sun Valley” kinda schtick?

…you seem perfect to be the next head of Lucasfilm Ltd 👍🏻

And I don’t care what anyone looks like…but deliver or you’re FIRED. Reward talent…not mission statements. It wasn’t broken and never needed to be fixed. Accomplishment needs to be rewarded with more opportunity.

It’s amazing how you can’t seem to follow along for even a minute. I’m not the one who brought up how designers look.

I blame Tom Fitzgerald for a lot of this crap… I hear a lot of people praise him and I have no idea why

Because they’re transferring the positive feelings they have of Horizons and see him as being “old Epcot”?

It's not that far fetched to have a show themed to animals coexisting under a tree that shows animals coexisting. Because clearly, this tree doesn't belong in the park because it defies nature
I never interpreted the animals on the tree as coexisting if coexisting means happy and not harming each other. I always thought the Tree of Life and Circle of Life and similar concepts were putting a resigned and profound spin on the fact that animals eat each other.

Admittedly, he’s got a number of successful contributions to his belt. Including the original Star Tours alongside Tony Baxter, being the creative producer of Mickey’s Philharmagic, and as mentioned by someone else, working on Horizons. And he (may) have been the script writer on the 93 update to Carousel of Progress, if not, I believe I heard he was involved, but I’d have to double check on that.
But I’ll admit, by the early-mid 2000s, it seems his contributions have been more misses than hits sadly

It’s amazing how you talk past with the “I know but I can’t say how” stuff…the old wannabe WDI on the chatboards routine
You’re not alone.

You took an adversarial Stance on a point (which I don’t even really agree with)…the line was drawn even if that wasn’t your intent.

Don’t support bad management.
They do stupid things…daily. For instance: putting the minute clinic lady in charge of WDI…

“well that’s over now…”
But the same idiots that made the mistakes aren’t gone.

Lion King: “When we die, our bodies become the grass. And the antelope eat the grass. So, we are all connected in the great circle of life.”

Zootopia: “Animals used to eat each other and that was BAD. But now we are enlightened, but still have prejudices against each other and now THAT is BAD.”

Yeah, I mean don’t get me wrong. He did a couple good things. I believe he was the one who wrote the original transcript for spaceship earth as well… It just seemed like when Toy story mania came out and blew his mind. I lost all respect for him.

Side note - While talking to some of my Disney friends last night, we had an interesting theory:

Could this be cloned over to DCA to rotate with or flat out replace Philharmagic? Now, we don't think it'll happen any time soon, but we realized it'd be a relatively easy overlay. Slap Clawhauser where the penguins were, reskin Donald's butt to be the sheep's, print some new flyers for the queue and bam.

Why not Clawhauser sitting where Statler and Waldorf usually are makes more sense...

Admittedly, he’s got a number of successful contributions to his belt. Including being involved with Disneyland’s late 70s enhancement to the Matterhorn (adding the Yeti & various other internal set design to the mountain, initially planned during Walt’s era but never added in til then) to the Matterhorn (which may have Infact been one of if not ‘the’ first project he was ever involved with), the original Star Tours alongside Tony Baxter, being the creative producer of Mickey’s Philharmagic, and as mentioned by someone else, working on Horizons. And he (may) have been the script writer on the 93 update to Carousel of Progress, if not, I believe I heard he was involved, but I’d have to double check on that.

Yes, I said this just now to a different poster that he did contribute some things like I said I think he was the original script writer for spaceship earth but like I said on my reply to somebody else after Toy story mania came out and he was so amazed by it I lost all respect for him… I’m like why don’t you just go buy a PlayStation 3 Tom it will blow your mind.
