I wanted to like this, but it is truly awful. As others have already said, It’s Tough had a solid message about how we should be more appreciative of bugs, which gelled well with Animal Kingdom’s theme and was done in a fun variety-show style. This new show has absolutely no sense of cohesion in terms of presentation, message, or theme.
The overall theme and message here is “unity” but that’s the message of almost every Disney show these days. It means absolutely nothing anymore. And instead of educating the audience about any of the biomes or species that are shown, they made an awful little short film that’s just visual noise.
Why have the framing device be a stage show filmed by drones if none of that has any effect of the actual show itself? I was digging the look of the “stage” at first but as soon as the screen element was introduced I checked out. The film is so far removed from the stage show framing device that the drones aren’t even filming what you see — we’re cutting all over the place, things are slowing down, it’s all just a mess.
I don’t mind that they made a show that toned down on the scare factor — I don’t love it, but it’s not a hill worth dying on compared to the total lack of imagination or edification in this project. WDI was totally capable of making a cute movie that actually tied into the mission statement and left an impression here, but this is the opposite of whatever that could have been. What a bummer.

I find it funny that the Dung Brothers Dung ball was rename as the paw pact that were soils that were collected from the different biomes of Zootopia..But, we all know what it really is...

This is being rather soundly panned online thus far. And some are saying it gets "preachy" from the start (I haven't and won't watch it online, mostly because I think the movie and everything around it is pure crap), which is not a discussion that is going to end well. Can't wait for what is said once it's open to the general public.

I don't doubt people complained.
But I blame them for not knowing what they're going to and then making a big deal out of it when the show that was clearly trying to be scary ended up being scary. The signs were there. READ.
There's this weird thing that happens where any time Disney makes something that prompts a negative emotion people pretend it's a mistake instead of what they were trying to do. It's in all things they do (e.g. people whining that Bambi is sad), but especially the theme parks.
"Extra-TERROR-Estrial was scary!" Oh, ya don't say?
"Dinosaur scares kids!" Yeah, it scares adults, too, that's the point.
"It's Tough to Be A Bug was scary!" What, you mean the hornets weren't cuddly?
Like, they clearly made this things this way on purpose. No one thought having black widow spiders drop down from the ceiling was going to be funny. Being scared was the point. But that's just an unfathomable thing to some people, so we don't ever get to have anything but happy happy fun times now.
Imagine if they just never made rollercoasters because people constantly complained that they gave them a tickle feeling in their stomach and they didn't like that. That would be stupid; obviously don't go on the rollercoaster.
I've said it before in this thread, It's Tough to Be a Bug was not a personal favorite, I don't feel super sad knowing it's gone; it was good, but not irreplaceable. I can accept that's it's gone (though not a sucky replacement). But Disney's constant filing away of anything remotely scary? I can't get behind that and ITtBaB is a prime example.
In all fairness to and a plus for Zootopia: Furry Together, At least it doesn't breakdown every 30 minutes.

Pretty sure this is what you get when someone greenlights an attraction w/o actually having the story or script.

Looks like we got the Tiana crew to do the queue/preshow area.. same setup and environment ideas.
The film's story just is.. pointless? I was bored out of my mind with the story. I never connected with how Judy is supposed to be seeing the AA character? The 4D gags looked like the same contrived stuff from the first 4D film efforts 30yrs ago.
The screen itself looks very sharp.. the AA figure seems nice... the animation itself wasn't distracting.. but I never laughed, I never felt attached, I was never engaged at all... I was bored with what i was watching. The song felt like watching really bad karoke or something.. like 'please make it stop' reaction.

At least that ride is fun and doesn't put you to sleep.
If you want to scar your kids, you now need to go to Universal. The two dark universe rides can fulfill that niche! My one ride on Curse of the Werewolf a 7ish year old girl was sobbing a row behind me as we had the midride launch’s accompanied by werewolf snarls. Then on Monsters Unchained, we didn’t even need to get on the ride, the found footage room had tikes scared out of their mind everytime I was in there. Mind you I’m not sure you’ll win parent of the year for willingly taking your young child into Castle Freaking Frankenstein but the IQ of the average tourist never disappoints.
Back to Bug, my brother was traumatized as a young child when we first went, it’s extremely real and was freaking hilarious.

Wasn't impressed with the 1 minute teaser I watched, but I'll approach it with an open mind. My gut feeling is I will like this less than It's Tough to be a Bug, but that doesn't make it a bad show either. It also didn't mean it should live forever as a 3D show.
As @Goofyernmost alluded to, I do think people are quite dismissive over offerings and attractions that cater to children around here. Many here will poke fun at any children offerings, like Cool Kids Summers and I honestly question if they are parents or have young children at all. It doesn't mean your opinion doesn't matter, but you just might not understand bringing young kids to the parks.

I'd be more than happy if you could eliminate my decades of child related expenses. I've raised three of my own.
The part missing in your concern is glossing over how Disney was renowned for it's ability to create broad appeal and keep families together.. instead of just saying "well it's only for kids..."

Funny they still managed to get a Mystic Springs nudism joke in. Wasn't expecting one in the film's runtime and setting but they worked it in with them having a tent at the festival. (And Judy shyly saying "No thanks" when Yax tells her to "Let go of her inhibitions" XD)
