MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

I’m not against the fun map existing - but it shows less detail and not more.

My biggest fear is that the fun map was created because there are going to be significant cuts (ala Toy Story land) to what we originally saw. My hope is that the finished project resembles the original concept art cause that’s as good as this project can get.
By now the more "detail" they show previous to build that more disappointed the public gets when it isn't exactly the way the art showed it. They aren't going to commit to absolute details at this stage of the process. I think we are lucky, at this point, that we aren't all sitting here still wondering why the Rivers of America dried up and why did they put up all those walls up. Those of us on the boards are a very, very small percentage of the people that go there.

They could give all of Frontierland that "Crackaxle Canyon", 1940s Dust Bowl overlay and turn the old Liberty Belle dock into a gas station...lol
Reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode where the guy wanders out of the frontier and into a 1950s gas station. Heyyy, I think we found the logic behind cars in the frontier!

Like what?
My thoughts from the other thread:
The old concept art shows an expanse of solid land where there is now a flowing body of water leading uninterrupted to the waterfall. It’s not just a question of emphasis, but a (seeming) alteration (“seeming” because I’m hesitant to take such art at face value, not because it doesn’t show something materially different from the first design).

Good point. They will need to change the name to remove the reference to water.
Super interesting, Columbia Harbour House has a nautical theme and that won't make any sense moving forward. More than just changing the name, maybe a new "modern" theme overlay is due, lol:

Not sure what the “plant based” bit is in reference to, but rest assured that there’s still plenty of meat to be found at WDW.

The cartoon is obviously not to scale though…. I do see what you mean but the waterfall and water are in both pieces of art.
The thing I remarked on specifically, however, is the body of water that the cartoony map shows in place of what looks like solid land in the earlier concept art. Again, we have no way of knowing how accurate this is, but it is a point on which the two designs differ.

Yes, I do see that.

There’s also a loop of track missing - with a walk through attraction replacing it and a water feature replacing the previous ride.

So actually…. Maybe there have been some cuts already?
