DAK “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

It'll be fine! Anything "new" in the parks gives it new life, better effects, and a more recognizable IP for current audiences. ITTBAB was fun indeed, but we can't just let attractions rot forever for the sake of nostalgia. I'm all in on an update here!

The show capacity is going to be controlled by the Virtual Queue, and not the park reservations. Based on previous AP previews, the host park has closed to passholder reservations, and that has occurred in parks with a lot more capacity than DAK. So I'm a little surprised it's still available.

Probably more to do with DAK being a completely skippable park for most guests. But maybe it's some realization that just relying on IP synergy for attractions doesn't translate into automatic interest.

Am I the only one hopeful about this? Zootopia is a fine movie with likable characters, I can see them anchoring a show. Now we just need to see the execution.

EDIT: That clip they put out of Ginnifer Goodwin singing the song though did give me pause. Hoping that’s a small part of a strong show.

A Disney executive hoping Zootopia 2: The search for more furries, has more interest than the attraction at DAK?

It very well may be. That doesn't mean it belongs in Disney's Animal Kingdom or fit it's mission statement although of course that likely won't matter anymore in a few years time.

The marquee looks great! The element carving / beveling and "paws and feet" stylization matches the rest of the Discovery Island creative package perfectly.

It's design that's both new and fitting for the area.

The movie is giving It’s Tough to be a Bug talent show except the animals are doing human things. Which just comes back to why Zootopia is probably not the best fit for DAK.

I need to see the full thing, but wow that’s not what I expected. Not sure how to feel about it doesn’t look particularly good. Again, holding judgement till the full thing is released.

Will also withhold full judgement, but not really loving the preview clip. Just feels like a random youtube zootopia series or something. The song isn't particularly catchy to me either. But maybe it will grow on me.

That will have to wait for now. I was still trying to understand having stand-out neon coloring on the marquee that clashes with most of the parks' more natural color tones.
