WOL Demo coming ..

Animated Aladdin was #1 film of 1993 if memory serves correctly. If those who put Frozen in Norway were in charge back then, and Morocco was not the uniquely pavilion it already was, I could see this shoehorned in (idk if they still have Aladdin M&G there but they did for a time)
my argument exactly. If frozen can go into Norway then Aladdin can go into Morocco. Plus it would remove the stupid Aladdin ride at MK. but id honestly prefer them build a UAE pavilion and put a Morocco ride there while promoting Abu Dhabi Disneyland.

Back to the topic tho. I would personally like them to keep the space pavilion facade, and obv 220, but gut the ride itself and put a slow moving space dark ride. Heck if they want theme it around Wall-E. and make the dark ride take up the current footprint plus the back of WOL footprint. Plus its not like it would be the first time disney builds a new ride but keeps a facade, hi GOTG:CR and Nemo.

Sacrilege! El Rio del Tiempo/Gran Fiesta Tour con Los Tres Caballeros was WDW's consolation prize for not getting a restaurant in the Pirates load/entry lagoon.
Especially sacrilegious if the restaurant is demolished for a ride queue.
It's getting to the point where if Disney painted a wall green there would be outrage from people that they didn't paint it purple.
Conversely, it's also at the point where some people would passive-aggressively belittle anyone that simply doesn't like the green wall, and say it's best for business that the wall is green and that the purple wall is "underutilized space." There is always two sides to the "doomer vs pixie duster" coin.

Come on, don’t be ridiculous. Everyone has a red line - for instance, everybody on these boards would be unified in outrage if they replaced Splash Mountain with a much less impressive ride or ripped out a major feature of the parks like the Rivers of America. There ARE limits.

Good examples. I still haven't even bothered to ride Tiana's because I don't want to ruin my memories of probably the best log flume ride ever built.

Futureport82 (the virtual re-creation project of classic EPCOT Center attractions using Unreal Engine) has made a really good WOL pavilion re-creation:

Just got around to watching more than a second of this .....WOW!!!!! I was looking at this structure outside the monorail beam and I'm like "I'm sure I would have remembered THAT" only to learn a moment later that was to be an EPCOT Peoplemover  (I had only previously known of it being proposed for Communicore 🏆

there's lots more videos below and you can download the full version that you can download (free) and walk-through yourself as well at futureport82.com

In the full version you can download, the "SMITHWAY Peoplemover" can be turned on or off, as well as other pavilions that never existed. Most of the 80's era pavilions have been re-created by now with Horizons on the way.

Maybe, but I don't think they would go out of their way to add something even potentially offensive to certain ethnic groups. Especially these days. Personally, if I was from Norway I would find the Frozen attraction offensive in the sense that the ride is way more concerned with Frozen than Norway, Same with Mexico and Three Cabs.

I think we can all agree tho coco should be in the Mexico pavilion. with the only actual debate being how and where to put the line.

I also still think Italy should have a gondola ride, plus it could be themed around Luca or even the upcoming gatto. I also wouldn't mind a big hero 6 ride being shoed into the Japan pavilion

I would actually be in favor of that because Coco is far more culturally authentic to Mexico than 3 Cabs which again only one of the three is Mexican, Donald is American and Jose is Brazilian. They had no problem shoehorning Frozen into Norway. I don't understand why they can't here. If it requires a re-design so be it.

Just because they theoretically build an attraction at Epcot absolutely does not mean they would remove one at MK. They'd have both.

I don't agree at all. They should wait for Coco until after the DCA ride is built and then clone that somewhere at WDW. Could that be a Mexico expansion? I suppose. But it doesn't have to be and it shouldn't just be shoehorned into the existing attraction.

I would rather have neither. The Magic Carpets are and have always been a horrible blemish on the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland. they are an eyesore that stick out like a sore thumb. Never mind that it is also a major bottleneck for guests trying to walk through Adventureland and of course the only reason it exists is because Michael Eisner believed that they should utilize every dead space in the park. See Leave a Legacy as another example of this which is thankfully gone now.

Cool. I didn't say anything about the quality or the placement, just that they wouldn't remove it just because another attraction existed.

TBA is so bad that you will either be offended or break down in laughter at the stupidity of it all.

TBA isn’t bad as a ride, mostly because the ride path/system was already proven to be enjoyable. The biggest issue is the inability to get animatronics to actually work. Every time I ride, they either have lockjaw or lazy eye.

FWIW, canonically, San Fransokyo is an alternate universe San Francisco, not an alternate universe Tokyo. If you maybe found a way to put it between the U.S. Pavilion and the Japan Pavilion as a sort of transition between the two, that might be excusable, but if it in anyway takes over anything in the Japan pavilion or has an entrance within the Japan Pavilion, it really would be a worse fit than Frozen in Norway.

Also, aside from the continued AA issues, they’ve just given up on the other show elements. The first time we rode this, literally everything worked. Now?? It’s just pathetic. The scene where you supposedly shrink was, I thought, really cool. Misting with yellow and purple lighting effects. It was really cool looking visually. After that one ride through, I don’t think it ever worked again (reminds me of the laser cannons in RotR). Also, the one video of Mama Ode bringing you back to normal before you go up the final lift hill, that is almost never on. There were also some additional show effects there that seem to have been turned off as well.

If I’m going to pay the prices Disney demands, then they need to be giving every effort to make certain everything - EVERYTHING - on these rides are in show ready condition. I mean people are paying premium prices just to get in the park, while also paying LL money. This is where I happily join the angry horde on the forums. If they can’t keep their rides in show ready condition, then their profit margins for the parks are way too high. They have the money to spend sufficiently on maintenance. They are using too many metrics to justify ways not to.

Now, what any of this has to do with the WoL demo, I have no idea haha!

Coco is an outstanding film. Arguably the very best from Pixar the last 10 years imo. However, I'm happy 3C's still there. However, I'm very surprised 3C's still there. I know this means nothing except "thank you for letting me say it." I can still see it coming to Mexico, and I'd be OK with that if they:
  • do it "well"
  • leave restaurant alone
  • Maybe find a new home for the anamatronics besides archives or a personal collection (but I realize they are about 55 years old and constantly falling apart already).

I also am done with clones. Do I appreciate not traveling the world to ride Tron and Rat? Yeah. But enough of that.

The best part of last year’s D23 was that we are getting so many non-cloned original rides. When I go to the foreign parks, or even the GOAT that is Disneyland, I want new and different experiences. And you know that if WoL does indeed get demolished next year, an original attraction will be going in there. If they were smart, they would wait until Bob is rolled out of the door so that they could build Horizons 2.0. The only problem with that is that Bob owns the door. It would be nice if they could maintain some modicum of original rides and IP rides. But if Josh is a clone of Bob, we can just forget that potentiality.
