I remember they made pieces from the wand over Spaceship Earth (remember that?) into pins...so you could buy a Disney pin that had a tiny piece of the wand in them.

if they knock down WOL for the soul sake of keeping the building vacant costs to much for repairs then that's fine w me. means more money for figment or maybe dare I say DCA's coco in Mexico. while were at it ill still say it blows my imagination Italy and Uk don't have rides with the amount of Ip's that would work. I also still want an Aladdin ride for Morocco and a ride for Japan

With all the popularity of both Cranium Command ‘and’ Inside Out (which totally feels like something that would’ve been created for said pavilion, I should mention, on top of it, both had Pete Docter’s involvement), they should simply revitalize it. There’s also the short film Inner Workings that was well received too that could be utilized somewhere. Again, all themes they could work within the pavilion. On top of it, some of the original film based shows can play again w 4K prints and rotate with new films easily. (For example, what’s stopping the possibility of having ‘both’ the classic Cranium Command show restored aswell as rotating with a new one featuring Buzzy getting a new assignment from General Knowledge to pilot Riley’s head while working with her emotions?)
And that’s not even getting into Body Wars, which, also could have different alternating ride shows also. It’s just kinda nuts to me, with all the technology we have now, why they seemingly refuse to offer a more balanced variety of options we ‘could’ have now rather than the one straight, modern film based IP direction it’s seemed to be going in lately. Baymax is another character that could be utilized there no problem for a show regarding health. We could also see an alternating new Sports Goofy themed Goofy About Health show on top of it, considering Eric Goldberg just came back to WDAS to do some new classic style Goofy shorts for Disney + recently. On top of it, it’d be nice to see imagineers be able to excercise the full reign of creativity that once was possible with the past set. We should be able to see brand new characters & attractions, classic attractions restored & enhanced w tastefully done new spfx, elements & tech, alongside some new tastefully themed IP tied attractions. I think that’s fully possible if management would just greenlight it. They ought to put out some more classic EPCOT attraction themed merch, social media posts, etc and see how well those do/sell and try to gauge interest based on that: That’s just my 2 cents on the matter.

With health and wellness being more in vogue these days and all the fitness apps and whatnot a revitalized health pavilion would make a ton of sense but I guess they don’t want to go that direction.
Unfortunately, The issue is more politically charged now than it was in 1989.

It is actually kind of hilarious in retrospect how short a time the wand was there considering how controversial it was. I can honestly believe that people who did not attend EPCOT from 1999 through 2007 would actually be surprised to learn it was ever there. I hated the Hat much more and that lasted nearly 15 years compared to the seven and a half years of the wand.

Never going to happen. Aladdin is not a Moroccan story and Aladdin is the most recent Disney Film released to have a cultural sensitivity warning added to it on Disney+. They are not going to open that can of worms, trust me.

Thinking about this again, hear me out...demolish WOL in Q1 2026. Announce a refurb on Mission: SPACE, closing late Q2 2025.

Then at D23 announce a new "something" that occupies both the SPACE and WoL footprint.

It just comes down to logistics. You can't save everything, and the mobile was a huge piece. It was assembled in pieces in Maryland and then welded together inside Wonders at the last possible second (weeks before opening). How do you take that down and safely remove it from the building? Where/how do you store it? It wouldn't surprise me if these are all questions that were asked when it was taken down, but I do unfortunately doubt that much of it (if any) was saved from the rubble.
How? The same way they put it up except in reverse order. How could they store it? In the same type containment vessel in which they packed it up and shipped it from Maryland. Disney has some ginormous warehouses.

Mission Space is tough because of 220. I can see a redo of the story, graphics and the ride vehicles, but I'd be surprised at something completely new.

I will say that MS has been seriously neglected the last 5 or so years. They seem to ignore it like they did with Dino in AK, letting it slowly rot away with nary a refurb in sight. The last 2 visits we've ridden it there were multiple things not working inside the capsules and the video you watch for the mission was dingy and blurred. The monitor upgrades they gave it a while back are already junk.

Plus, at best, by 2001 wand was an eyesore. By 2001 hat was an eyesore too ;)

Animated Aladdin was #1 film of 1993 if memory serves correctly. If those who put Frozen in Norway were in charge back then, and Morocco was not the uniquely pavilion it already was, I could see this shoehorned in (idk if they still have Aladdin M&G there but they did for a time)
